  1. I am in the same boat. Had my plication in March 2011, and I am now back to my pre-op weight due to stress, life changes, and a greater expansion of my stomach than I expected. I have contacted OCC and Dr. So. They recommend that I have a touch-up performed. However, unlike KellyinPDX, they are asking for a nice chunk of change (multiple thousand USD) for the touch-up. As this is WAY more than I was expecting, especially with your experiences, it looks like I will have to live without it. Granted, as some of this is probably my fault, I cannot be mad/upset about this. I am depressed about this beyond belief - I thought I was low when I hit this weight again, but not as low as I am now. I pray that things will get better,
  2. Hi All, The other day, I slowly stretched backwards to help relieve some of the pressure in my back, and felt a "pulling" pain/discomfort in teh general area of my stomach. It wasn't from one of teh incisions. Has anyone else felt anything like this? I am nervous to even stretch these days - I find myself becoming a bit of a hunchback! Stoney
  3. Yolanda, I feel the same way that you do. My weight loss has slowed down noticeably since the first week. I think i've only lost a pound or two this week, but any loss is good, so I am trying to stay positive. I too am looking forward to going to the gym. My Rec Center has a whole rack of ellipticals and treadmills in an area with a bank of TVs on different channels, so that will be pleasant! And thank you ktb for the list of soft foods! I didn't know how I was going to survive on crackers, toast and applesauce! I love fish, so that will be a great and welcome change!
  4. Hi! Yes, I remember you. We are royalty, after all! I am doing much better. Just needed an extra day to get through the worst of it. But thank the Lord for Yogurt!

  5. If you do not remember me, I did have surgery the same day as you and Yolanda, I was with my daugther Camila. Hope you are doing great.

  6. Hi, How are you?!!! please lest keep in touch, I was wondering how are you doing since you left occ, I am doing not so great because of the shakes and yogurt, but I lost 6 lb so far. I wish you the best and thank you again for the gas-x strips!!

  7. Sounds pretty darn good to me. I was just thinking a bit of vanilla for creamyness. But I like your idea better!
  8. Hey Sharon, I am doing much better now! Day 1 of Week two, and the protein drinks are hitting the spot. After those first couple days of misery, I am coming back into myself. In fact, I am returning to teaching tomorrow! Wish me luck! My main issues now are just that I feel weak and tired most of the time. I walk when I can, but it really takes it out of me. Has anyone heard if we can have vanilla ice cream on Week 2? I want to make a Smoothie with OJ and Vanilla.
  9. Hi Yolanda, Yes, I left on Wednesday even though Dr. Martinez was concerned about me enough to ask if I could reschedule my flights to Thursday or Friday. I left on Wednesday because I was feeling better and the barium swallows looked perfect. I guess that I just had a very hard time metabolizing the anesthesia. Yeah, sitting on the planes was the worst. Did a LOT of walking in the airports to the point that my calves were killing me, but SO worth it. Glad to hear that you made it home ok. Every day will keep getting better from here on out! Stoney
  10. Hello All. Giving an update since my Plication surgery on Monday March 14th. The surgery went well for me, but the recovery was a mess. I found out from my mother after the procedure that my family has a hard time metabolizing the anesthesia, so it took me longer to get away from it than most. Thus why even on Wednesday I was still throwing up bile in the morning. That said, on Tuesday I was only able to get down a few tablespoons of the tea before needing to be sick. On Wednesday, I was able to get about 20 oz on fluids down, helped out by a LOT of walking around the airports. My calves haven't felt this sore in a while! Today, I haven't thrown up yet, though the urge is still there. I am producing a lot of saliva like when you are about to throw up, but so far so good still. I have been able to take the medicines I need to, except the Supradol, which I do not know if I should take (it has a LIST of potential bad side effects). Overall, I am feeling WORLDS better than I did on Tuesday. Every day brings a little more comfort and less pain. The cramps are still striking me with semi-regularity, but that are getting to not be as bad as yesterday. Any comments from people will be appreciated!
  11. Hey WSUCoug - I attend WSU myself. I am getting plication on MOnday - 3/14. Wish me luck! :)

  12. I can't believe that I will be there for my surgery in less than a week! Sadly, I do not arrive until after noon, so I have an entire afternoon that I do not know what I will do with. Maybe walk over to Avenida Revolucion?
  13. I am there for the 14th as well. Down about 10 lbs on the 2 shakes-and-a-healthy-choice plan. 5 more to go!
  14. I am coming from Washington State. Looking forward to the warmer weather down there! I started option 2 (2 shakes and a healthy choice) 8 days ago. So far, I am down about 10 lbs, with 5 more to go. Some days are much easier than others, but Progresso Italian-Style veggie soup really helps! See you soon, and best of luck!
