Day 1: Nutrisystem

Posted by Zzzombrie in Enter the Dragon, 08 July 2014 - - - - - - · 0 views

Day 1 of pre-op reduction phase started with some general anxiety about what I should eat. I spent $280 on the Nutrisystem package but haven't touched it until today. After some argumentation in my head over pizza or a breakfast bar, the bar won. Before eating, I stepped on the scale and saw 242 staring back. I've never been this heavy in my life, so brea...

Can anyone tell me if there is a place the your companion can go to eat the day of the surgery at the hospital while you are there? I have someone coming with me and I was wondering what and how they eat that day?

Well today I sent Carolyn at OCC at huge list of questions I'd compiled. Huuuuge lol. I kind of feel bad for her! I am looking into booking my surgery for the end of August/14. I wish I could just have it done next week. Once I make up my mind, that's it and waiting is killer lol. I don't know if anyone is actually going to read this or not but it's nice...

I have never thrown up, not once since surgery.  I am a slow eater and I know when that "one bite" is going to be the one that sends me into burbing, belching and being miserable for the next half hour.   So I avoid that feeling at all costs.

The hardest thing for me is actually eati...

In all seriousness, I am sitting here watching "Bacon Paradise" after just watching "Pizza Paradise."  Why?  Probably because I am too tired or lazy to change the channel.  lol  Actually, I moved only one week after surgery, and then went back to work the next day.  It is just how my life has worked lately.  But anyway, I kno...

Posted by nranz in nranz's plication blog journey, 11 September 2013 - - - - - - · 476 views

Well I feel like I am finally to the point that this new way of life seems like "normal". I have lost 40 pounds total since my journey began with the decision to proceed, and 20 since the surgery. That amount of weight loss in 7 1/2 weeks aint too shabby! I still have times where I really wish I could eat more but I think it is more from habit and psyc...

It's been 11 days since I had the sleeve revision. I'm feeling like I'm just water logged. All I have been doing is drinking. It's kind of hard drinking so many fuilds. Between water, protein shakes and brothy soups, I'm floating!

Well, my surgery has been delayed.  I had to have my gallbladder removed on March 1st and had to wait a full 8 weeks to recover with no complications before VSG could be performed and my son will be graduating bootcamp on May the 16th.  My new surgery date is May the 21st.  Who'd've thought your gallbladder could cause so much back pain!...

So, I'm one week post surgery and feeling pretty good.  Still bruised and a bit stiff but other than that, doing a-okay.  I'm moving to the full liquid diet portion of the post op and am not sure of how to schedule "meals".  Do I schedule the protein shakes/cream soups as meals and then supplement with two "snacks" one between...

Surgery was easy breezy!  I never had a surgery that went so well.  I had one pain pill only because my Mom wanted to go walking and I was feeling a little uncomfortable so I took a pill to get me through the walk.   I LOVE my nurse Patti; she is such a jewel.  I wished I could have brought her home with me.

Ok, here is the problem; Mom and I both...
