  1. I have to say that when I had the surgery I thought the weight would just melt off of me! haha... I was also AMAZED at how little you can eat without losing. I have been where you all are at and believe me it gets better. I had my plication last June and am now down 70 pounds... I appreciated that I didn't have the gaunt face, I lost gradually, and it gave my skin a chance to go back. Plication was the best decision I have ever made because it was a tool to help me, but really I was mentally ready for this journey. If you need support I would even go to a Weight watchers meeting, they give great ideas for meals and there is a feeling of support with others that are struggeling to loose weight. Best of luck to you!
  2. My heaviest weight was 235, and the day of surgery I weighed 230. I had the surgery last June and couldn't be happier with my results. I have lost 70lbs!!! I can say that I made a huge conscious effort to make this work... I think the biggest thing would be to limit fast food. I had hit a plateau at one point and started to walk, I would walk 30-45 minutes 3-4 times a week and it really helped kick start my weight loss again. I am still loosing and have surpassed my weight loss goal set for me by the nutrionist at the OCC. I was mentally ready for change, and that meant completly changing my relationship with food. I would also suggest limiting simple carbs, I stay full longer with protein and it then helps keep me from wanting to snack. Good luch with your weight loss journey.
  3. I'm super happy with the plication procedure!! I had my plication last June (2011) and have lost 70lbs. I would do it over in a heart beat! The facility was clean, the doctors and staff professional and I had an easy recovery. I didn't have any problems post surgery.
