  1. You will be fine and never better taken care of. Most of us oldies stayed at the Lucerna, they were great. Have fun and relax...it's all good.
  2. thanks Lisa...You are AWESOME! I really did need to hear that. Somebody needs to kick me off my pitty pot every now and then.
  3. I am so glad to here other people who are struggling like me. I have had my band filled and unfilled so many times I am about to lose count (3 times). This is much harder than I ever expected it to be. I have made a lot of changes in the quantity of food I eat and I have been lifting weights at least 4 times a week since Jan 09. And yet no more weight lose. My food choices are not real good, but you all know after a long time of struggling with this, you really lose your focus. A year and 2 months after being banded and only 40 lbs. It is truely a downer to continue to read all the awesome stories of weight lose, so I hardly ever get on this forum anymore. So I am happy to hear from every one like me. I will continue to read more especially those topics that are like this one. Thanks
  4. Yep, girl, you are too tight. I speak from 2 too much experience. It sucks to get an unfill, but it is instant relief. My fill dr. would always totally unfill, then I would have to return after the swelling went down for a new beginning. I am sick of that, but yet I will get my Third ... first fill. Don't wait on your unfill, because you will get miserable. I too would wake up, but I was choking because my saliva wouldn't go down. Hang in there, we have to! Good luck
  5. OK so give us the details...do you have to go back, how many times? What size did you go from and to? Under or over the muscle? Did you get cut under or around the nipple? Do you have drains? How much? Does that include any follow up? I would love to have that done. Do tell, Do tell....
  6. WEll it's like this...Twice my band has contricted my gut to the point of no passage. And when that happens, you can't even swallow your on saliva. I would literally wake up choking because it wouldn't go down. I will be going to a new Dr. in April to get my 3rd "first" fill. The OCC said it was just too much in my band...
  7. It is truely bitter sweet. I am approaching my 1 year (April 7). I am donw about 38 #. I am glad to be down but I am a bit dissappointed too. My band currently has nothing - zero in it for the second time in this past year. And I am eating like a pig. It has been so long since I have lost anything I am really having big doubts I will reach my goal weight. The whole experience seems to be slapping me in my face. But not to take away from you, keep on losing kiddo!
  8. I can't say that I am happy with my band either. The weight loss for me has been a joke. I was banded 4/7/08 and I have only lost 37 pounds to date and a couple of sizes, and lots of money. I have had 2 unfills and it's very frustrating. I feel your pain...
  9. April will be a year for me too. My weight loss has not been good either. I am currently at a total weight loss of 40 pounds. That just sucks! I have had several fills and now I have had 2 unfills.(I will correct my signature info at a later time). So now I am back to just a band, just like the day I had surgery. wow that has been a really expensive 40 pounds. I can eat any and everything and my mental attitude toward all this is terrible. I have begun cardio and weights and have been going for 3 weeks now. I have shaped up a bit, but the scales are a joke. So I am not happy to say the least with my band. I have a great fill dr., but I am not having the results I anticipated. Can you imagine, not once, but twice an unfill. :-? He can not give me an answer on this either. Sorry so sappy ya'll,
  10. Hey ya'll, hope everyone survived the holidays. I didn't... I think I ate a little or a lot of everything...mostly sweets! I did it and noone had to tell me how to do it. So now I have to pay for it. I am still at my posted weight loss. So I am looking to here about some fantastic weight loss and someone else who screwed up like me! Any sure fire suggestions for another quick start. And I will shoot :-? anyone who mentions Weight Watchers. Miss you all, so I will try to stay more in touch! :-h
  11. I have a great Dr. in Murphresboro. Dr. Wayne Westmoreland. He will give you a fill and if you need more with in a month, he won't charge you or if you got too much and need an unfill within a month, he won't charge you. He is very good and his staff is great, he also has a support group that you can meet with and also a nutrionist. He is 3 hours from me and I am willing to drive to see him. He is very kind and caring about what he does. HEY DAWNIE, LOVE THE PICTURE YOU SKINNY GIRL YOU!
  12. I am 9 months into this adventure. I had lost 40 lbs and many inches until about mid Oct. when my band just got way too tight (like it closed up). I couldn't even keep water down, literally, nothing. I would throw up a sucker. So I had to have all my fill removed and start over. I gained back about 10 pounds. I seemed to have kept my size, but can't seem to shake those 10 pounds and get back on the losing track. Yeh, yeh, it's a tool, I get it. But I am still facing many of the same struggles as prebanded days. I have been a bit disappointed too. I need a fill for more restriction. I have been to that before and beyond, so I know what it is really like to not just want to stop, but have to stop eating. I want that point again. Maybe after the holidays I can financially afford another fill because I can eat and drink with the best of them. From what I have felt, the pain in your chest can come from your band. I am glad you continue to be active...you're ahead of me! We will all get there one way or another...one day or the next.
  13. Hi everyone, well here we go again. I went today for my first re-fill. I just love my fill Doc. He put in 2.4cc. I gained 5 pounds in about 3 weeks . I can tell I got a fill, but it seems like my fills get a little tighter with in the next few days. Some times don't you feel like you're being treated for rabies with all these fills? I asked him what he thought was the issue that made me so tight. He said he really believes that I got something stuck in the opening that just would not move. So Ya'll be careful out there and chew chew, chew. He also explains that slippage doesn't really mean the band actually slips or moves. It is the stomach that moves around the band.....weird huh? I was wondering how that thing could slip if it was sewed in. Hug a Veteran today and say thanks, >
