About Me

Hmmmmm..... I am scheduled for surgery on March 4. I decided to have this surgery as the BIG 30 is approaching and for the first time in a long time I feel hopeful about my future. I think this surgery will help me improve how I feel about myself. I am trying to have realistic expectations for the band. It is difficult to try to evaluate its effectiveness because everyone seems to have such different experiences, successes and failures with it. I am scared I will fail and worried I will disappoint myself. However, I know I have to be my own motivator, keep a good attitude and be accountable. I thought I did an adequate amount of research, but it seems the more info I read on lap band experiences the more I am unsure about it. Hopefully, this is simply just pre op jitters. Any comments, guidance and advice would be greatly appreciated...

Hahaha, I have to walk by the Coach store - if I went in my credit card would hate me forever. I went to an outlet mall in Vegas and dropped $900 on stuff in April. Eep! Cashmere sweaters for $49?! Hello!!

Fortunately my band didn't slip so whatever it is, it's to do with my body and not the band. Unfortunately we haven't figured out what exactly it is. I'm feeling better than I have in months though. How'd your fill go??

Hey, how are you doing? Just wanted to see how you're doing with the band at three months out. Hope it's been good to ya!

Oh yeah, you can start working your core - but don't make a focus on it. doing a million 'ab' exercises won't give you abs ;)

Yep, yep, yep!!! Work those abs! I still do not do ab work perse but there are a lot of excercises that work your "core" without having to rely on crunches or sit-ups. Do yoga and/or pilates to target your abs without the impact of crunches or sit-ups.

Thanks you, I know I am still far from goal but it is these little ones that make the journey so much more bareable.

Thanks! I am glad it kicked in too but still debating whether or not I need slight unfill. I am doing good though so I think I will let this one ride.

so glad to hear about the pain. it's just a little tender. Not really sure if it's a mix of hunger pain or what. I'm downing these fricking protein waters like mad. Well not chugging - but been drinking them steadily.

Hey, I noticed that when I was on liquids my taste buds changed and I hated creamy soups for some strange reason. Have you tried switching up your liquids a little bit to trick your body? It may be in a rut from the same things. Try wacko stuff like warming up cans of V8 on the stove or puree some stuff in a blender?

Don't freak out about your weight loss stopping. Just tweak things and it will start up again. Make sure you're drinking water. SmartWater has electrolytes. :)
