Hi everybody, I am flying down on November 20 and having the surgery on the 21. Is anybody else going to be there at the same time?

When I made my appt I was told that Dr Ortiz will be out of town so Martinez will be doing the surgury. I am sure that he will do a great job but I am still nervous. Can anybody who has met him tell me anything about him both good and bad please!

I am new to the board and just wanted to say hello to everybody. I am being banded on November 21 and am VERY nervous. The part that scares me the most is the intubation. I am a full time college student graduating in May as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. I see at least one intubation a day. It's not the best feeling so I've been told. Does anyone have any reassuring stories for me? Anyway just wanted to say hi! Good luck to everyone on their journey!

I am having my surgury done on November 21. Kinda bummed that I'm going over Thanksgiving but Im a full time college student therefore I have no other time. Is there anybody else who will be there at that time? I had to beg my mom and boyfriend NOT to come with me because I want them to stay with my son and I don't want them to miss Thanksgiving. I am so nerveous about the surgury because Ortiz will be out of town and Martinez will be the head surgeon. Anybody have an opinion on that? Andrea
