FIRST FILL AND FREAKING

So I went for my first fill today and after about 10-12 attempts at finding the port, they were unable to locate it. I am so discouraged right now and in a bit of pain from all the poking. Is it normal to have any discomfort with your fill? I feel like I got stepped on by an elephant. I am scheduled on next Friday to have it done by Xray, but man I sure hope there is no problem. (

I am so sorry! Fills are not meant to be like that. You will like the X ray. Not a way to start the first fill

Fills are not meant to be like that!!

They should be almost pain-free, and certainly not a 'fishing expedition"!

Maybe your port has moved/come away? Its all I can think of.

Your xray one will reveal all- and I guarantee it will be nowhere near as traumatic.For me: a Little burning prickle then its over. Nothing to freak about. Here's hoping your next is like that.

I'm so sorry to hear how that went. I just had my first fill this week, and I was very worried about the pain. My fill doctor told me that Dr. Ortiz had placed the port in a perfect place and he had no trouble doing it. I hardly felt the needle at all. Best of luck for the X ray version.
