pre op diet

Hi and Welcome to the gang! The 3 options from OCC are -

1) a month before: the beginning phase of Atkins

2) two weeks before: 2 protein shakes and a lean cuisine (300 cal.)

3) 1 week before: 3 protein shakes

There are a few other small things you can do with 2 & 3, but that's the jest of it.

Not sure if it really matters what you do to lose the weight, but this is the info OCC sends out. You will be on liquids for 21 day post-op, so shrinking your stomach is part of it....in my opinion.

Hope this helps!

Hello, My name is Kathie, I am new to the forum and wondering what the pre op diet is?

The post-op diet is directly after your surgery and it is 21 days of liquids. First week is clear liquids, 2nd week you get to add drinkable yogurts, 3 week is full liquids no chunks so soups protein drinks ect. It is so your band will heal properly and stay in place. You will not be eating anything to heavy that might put pressure on the band. It is a time for healing.
