That happened to me last weekend, I ate some peanuts, not thinking it would tear up my throat, but it did. I called the fill center nurse and they said DO NOT eat or drink anything cold. I went on warm liquids(no chunks ) for 3 days and I am all better now. They say the cold contracts your throat and you dont want that to happen, thats why they say to have warm liquids. Hope you feel better soon.

I have gone to the Austin fill center twice and have had great experiences there. The fluoro they used on me was not a still pic, it was live. And they never have strapped my feet down, I dont even change my clothes, I just wear low pants and a dark shirt in case I get blood on it. I am sorry you had such a bad experience there. But I guess everyone has off days. For me, I will always go back to the Austin fill center because I really like the people there and they do a great job

My highest weight ever was 240lbs. my weight at surgery was 181, I currently weigh 153. I told my husband that my goal was 135, he said that was too low. That I should weigh between 150 & 145. I looked at him like he was on druga. I said WHAT only 3 lbs less, No Way. Then I started to think about how a person is supposed to know what their ideal weight should be.

I have gone to the chiropractor probably 10 times since my surgery and have 2 massages with no problems.

You know when you eat popcorn and the littlest peice of kernal gets stuck in your throat, well I am afraid it would sit on the side of my stoma and just rot.

I chew gum everyday and have never had a problem. Now, I have been afraid to eat popcorn because I am afraid a kernal is going to get stuck. But chewing gum has never given me any gas bubbles. I would go ahead a chew it.

That is really expensive. I went to a fill center in Austin, TX it was 349.00 for the first time and only 80.00 for the fluoro and after that it will be 165.00 plus the 80.00. I wonder why the price is so different here.

It was the fill center usa in austin. I called the # and made my appt. for the fluoroscope. They only do it on Wed. and not every Wed. Well thats for the flouro, with out it, they might do fills on other days.

I had my first fill at the fill center in Austin and I got 2.5cc , I have been on warm liquids for 2 days now and will be able to eat tonight. I finally had one of my sugarfree popsicles after 2 days of not having them, it was wonderful, since its 95 degrees here. Hopefully everything will work like its supposed to. I did finally get out of the 170's this morning >

Hi Nicole, I was wondering how you were doing since you had said that after your fill at OCC you had no restriction. I am glad you finally have the restriction. I am going to get my first fill here in Austin on May 7, cant wait. Last night I ate alot of crap and boy did I feel it in my stitched stomach muscles, it felt awful. I wont be doing that again. How did you guys know that the 10cm band is really the 4cc band? My card says 10cm

I was going to eat today, but thought I better just wait. the only real food I have had is some avocado slices yesterday as I was making hubby a BLT, my mouth was watering and I wanted to eat a pc of bacon soooo bad, but controlled myself. I am going to fix me some eggs and toast for b-fast. Already cant wait to go to bed so I can get up and eat that is so terrible. But thats life.

I too have got that pain. I was banded on 3/24/08, but it didnt really start until I started my period. It does help if I suck in my stomach when I go to sit down. It feels like the stitch that is holding the tube that is sewn to your muscle is pulling if you turn a certain way. And I am hoping that it goes away when my period goes.

Hi Ramona, This is Susan, Lisa's sister and also the one from Texas I am doing great. I have lost 11 lbs, but last night was the first night that after I went to bed I felt hungry and knew I would not be able to sleep without eating something, so I had a 4oz yogurt. It did the trick. I plan on getting my fill here in Austin, they just opened up a new fill center that does the fluoro, and am thinking about getting it done around May 14th, would like it done the week before, but aunt flo will be here. I dont want to spend all that extra money to go back to TJ for my fill, but understand about you wanting to buy your ticket early. I know how much you dont want to gain wait, as we all know too well, but I think you should wait till you have been eating for a few weeks to see if you even need a fill. Maybe you will be one of the lucky few who never need a fill. Well good luck with everything. Cant wait till Sunday to eat real food > Susan

Hi Kimmie, I too am down 11 lbs since surgery. I told my hubby I thought I might be loosing too fast. One day last week it seemed like I at alot, but in reality it wasnt and still woke up to weigh a lb less. I think once I start eating real food it might not come off so fast. Susan

I had read somewhere on the forum that you shouldnt get fills around the time of your period. How long should you wait after flo is gone to get a fill?

Does anyone know if Steve got to have his surgery on Thursday?

Ramona, My sister Lisa enjoyed spending time with you guys so much. She couldnt wait to tell my hubby when he picked us up that she had sold me to your hubby. My hubby already thought me & my sister were crazy and now this has only confirmed it I am feeling really good today and am able to blow my nose and sneeze without holding my stomach. I was never really in that much pain except for the not being able to burp as good as I use too. I know you said you were a burper too and for it not to come out is so frustrating. The only real problem I have had is yesterday was the first day I took my meds for my ADD and I havent slept since Thursday nite. I wasnt sure if I should take another one today, but I need to get my body used to my pills again so I can sleep. I havent had this problem in 10 yrs, but have never gone off my meds for longer then a day. It was really great to meet everyone and have this special bond with all the girls. I am not going back to TJ for my fill, too expensive. I found a bariatric center about 5 miles from my house. Good luck to everyone and congradulations to all of us on making it this far =D> Susan

Susan, I forgot to give you the pain pills on Thursday and hope your feeling better. I am feeling good, no pain but a little itching from the wounds healing. Let me know how you are. Susan in Texas

Hi, No I'm not from NY, but Texas and I probably did ride with you back to the hotel. But I still was not all there and really dont remember what you guys even looked like. When I got back to the hotel, I slept most of the day. glad to be back home now and feeling pretty good. Except yesterday was the first day I got back on my ADD pill and unfortunately I havent slept yet. After laying in bed listening to my hubby sleep, I decided to get up @ 4:30 am and just start my day. How are you feeling?

Hi All, Well I ws supposed to have my surgery on Tuesday, but when I got here on Monday I asked if I could get it over with since I was already fasting. The worst thing for me has been the gas, not being able to get a burp out and it is really hurting. I am taking the gas x strips but dont know if they are working. The hotel is really nice and did some wallking today to see if that would help my gas problem, not much. Have met some really nice people here and will be going home tomorrow. I cant wait. I really miss my hubby and my dogs. And from what my hubby says, the dogs miss me too. Well going to go back to my room and rest. Good luck to all. Susan

Hi Darlene, Do you think we will be well enough to go shopping on Wed, the day we get released from the hospital? I have not done well on my pre-op only because I want to eat the foods now that I know I will not be able to later. I want that mental memory of what junk food tastes like. I am already thinking of where I can get a krispy kreme donut. Bad . and then yesterday my boss gave me a 25 gift card to AppleBee's for giving him a lift to the airport and for doing a good job on my collections. So I told my hubby that we are having lunch there today. I am going to start on my EAS drinks tomorrow and I also have to stop taking my ADD pills, which will not be fun. Saying my sentences backwards, not being able to make the words in my head come out of my mouth :0 should be an interesting weekend. Cant wait to meet all that will be in TJ next week. I buy the EAS Advantage drinks, my favorite is the fudge. They really tast great,not gritty or have a bad after taste, just drink them really cold. And only 100 calories.
