  1. I guess $4,000 is better than what I would have to pay here. I am still trying to get my insurances answer on whether they will pay for it or not. It seems that the Dr's office here is in no hurry to help me. I know they see these things all the time, but it is really hard when you are the one only getting liquids down. I called the OCC last night as I left the ER and they said the doc would call back last night, but alas no call so I guess I will try again today.
  2. I feel your frustration! My lap band has slipped and is at my esphagus(sp?). I found a doc here that will see patients who went out of the country for surgery and he said it needs to come out. I am waiting on insurance to see if they will pay for it if not i don't know what i am going to do. My band was put in by Dr. Ortiz in April '08.
  3. Kim, I am just returning to the boards after a year or more and I saw your post....I got married last year and the PBing is still a thing with us...we are happy but he says it makes him mad at the band that it isn't working right..of course half the time I think it is my eating habits...that I am working to change. He also is very protective of me...not in any weird way and so the PBing makes him uneasy thinking something is wrong with me. Don't worry about this guy...he would talk to you about it but get over it and be happy with you as my husband is; if he were the right one for you...Take care of yourself! Lynn
  4. is starting over and this time I am going to win!!!!

  5. Thank you for sharing. I am back to the band world after so many fills and unfills it is not funny and year or so of no reading/posting. I don't even know what tickers, etc will show up with this post I am back up to 15 pounds below surgery weight. I too know I am guilty of not following the band rules. I found a wonderful bariatric surgeon here in my area who would take me on as a patient and is helping me to get back on track..so with .5cc in my band I am starting over...Best of Luck to both of us!
  6. I am sorry...I had my second unfill two weeks ago, so i know exactly how you feel...I don't know what to try next.....I want this to work..and it has I have lost 83 lbs, but it always seems to end up tightening up so much i can't even get liquid down.
  7. I did tell about the surgery.....as for the scars mine are still there, the one over the port is the most noticeable...I had surgery 4/7/08 and have used medermabut evidently it is going to take a while for my scars to fade...good luck
  8. I have not been to the SD Zoo, but my parents went a few years ago and loved it! I was well enough to walk around and do stuff, so you should be too, just take breaks if you need to...sit and watch the monkeys
  9. =D> You look amazing, keep up the good work!
  10. Hey woman...glad to hear you are doing good! I just sent you an email about ten minutes ago...the scale is still headed in the right direction for me, even if it is slow....
  11. I seem to eat more than that, but it still is about 1/3 of what I used to eat. I feel fine and my blood work is also good so I am not worried about it. I do make sure to get protein and fruit/veggies and eat carbs last if at all
  12. There are times when my friends have a diet coke and I want to sniff it just to get the idea that I have it...but I have to admit it is not as bad as it was too beging with...
  13. I have been twice, once for surgery and once for a fill. The first time I went by myself and walked about during the day by myself just fine. The second time I went with a fellow bandster.....we went out at dusk to eat at the cantina....highly recommended...it is about 2 blocks down from lucerna...the huge yellow building. I would stay in at night, but otherwise I never felt scared or unsafe...three of us went to Revolution and did just fine....I am originally from WV and live in Fl now so I understand.......NC doesn't get all of the jokes about them that WV does Take care, you will be fine!!!!!!
