  1. I went through a time where I would get sooo gassy that the back of my shoulder would hurt until I got all the gass out. This was also after my second fill and it would be worse if I hadn't eaten all day...weird I know. It lasted about a month then went away. I was a horrible time.
  2. I got my 4th fill last week, I have 2.8 in 4cc band. I feel like the fill is great, I have good restriction, no pb'ing, I can eat what ever, no issues...except I have this strange sensation at the back of my throat, it's a slight slight burning sensation (not major, just a smiggin) it comes and goes though out the day, I don't have the heartburn symptoms (chest) or any reflux when I lay down except this strange tinglie burning sensation that lasts a few minutes then goes away...only to return with in a few more minutes or a hour later. WHAT THE HECK IS THIS. Do you think I should get a smiggin of an unfill? oh and BTW pepcid, tums and gaviscon don't do a thing.
  3. If you were NEVER able to eat bread and always had decent restriction and then the next day you felt your restriction had vanished and was able to eat a piece of bread? Because now I’m freaking out. AND lately I feel all gassy and such …
  4. The last few days I will get this pain under my right rib then all of a sudden I start belching continuously for like 10 minutes then it goes away, I'm assuming the pain is gas pressure????I think. I happens when I first get up in the morning or about 1 hour after I eat. This is new to me....is this typical????...sooo odd
  5. Holy crappers, that is really scary that no one bothered to call you. You poor poor girl!!! I can see why you are so upset with them, I'd be too. I am glad you found a fill doctor that treats you like #1. Glad you are ok and feeling better!! This is good info, I was thinking about going down for my 3rd fill (just to have everything looked at) by now I don't think I will bother.
  6. I could always feel it right below my port scar NOW it's inline with my scar...WTH??? Is this normal???
  7. Good for you!!!! That is the best news ever!!! This is very exciting news!
  8. HERE!!!!! I'm from Calgary! This forum is the only network support I use.
  9. Last night I had sautéed beef skewers and after the first few bites I got this brutal pain of something being stuck, I’ve had things get stuck before but this was way worse. I couldn’t stop moaning in pain, OMG it was AGONY. I tried everything to get this thing to pass, I was walking I was hunched over the tub, my 9 year old was pounding my back….1.5 hour later a whole gob of slim with food effortlessly exploded from my mouth about 3 times over the next ½ hour. SOOOO 2 hours of sliming and pbing has caused my throat to feel really raw and uneasy. I tried having jello this morning and I felt a mild stuck feeling but it passed quickly (I’m assuming I’m swollen). Should I stick with liquids for a few day? How long does this uneasy stomach/raw throat feeling last? Any suggestions? Do you think I should have my band looked at?
  10. Is there a rule? This would mean you are drinking while eating ehh??? And what about stuff like watermelon?
  11. This is fantastic information....Thank you soooo much!!!!!!!!
  12. My first bites are killers....I'm too preoccupied with eating that I forget to chew so food get stuck and it hurts like hell, I think my body is trying to PB but I have such an aversion to up-chuck that my body keeps it down and it hurts soooo bad...kwim. HELP!!!! I need to learn how to PB....I know this is such a retarded question...but honestly this is the best way I can explain it...
  13. You look amazing...you should be very proud of yourself!!
  14. I had my first fill on Wednesday and it was only 1.4....BUT think about as "slow and steady wins the race". Good luck....I've heard that 1.8 is a good first fill.
  15. If you are restricted and you get that “full” feeling where you can’t take another bite or you will Ralph……. then how do people over eat and stretch their pouch if you can only put so much into your pouch…Can someone explain this to me?? Disclaimer: I just had my 1st fill today and have never attempted this act…ever!!!
  16. I also have 2 year old and honestly I could not get away from lifting her…she needed to get in that car seat somehow. I just tried to not lift with my abs, I tried to lift with my back as much as possible..kwim.
  17. It want great!!! It was alot easier then I thought it would be. Dr DesCouteux is wonderful...I swear I feel different....He said he was going to put in 1.0cc but he put a tad bit more in....I think he said 1.4 or 1.2.... I can't wait to feel this "restriction" that everyone raves about Good luck with your fill!! quote name='Jann' date='Jul 16 2008, 07:47 AM' post='41231'] Hiya! How'd it go with the fill? You went to Decrouteaux didn't you? How are you feeling? I'm there on the 23rd. J
  18. Really!!!! that sucks!! I will be seeing a local doctor. They really need fill clinics here like they do in the US, that would be sooo handy. Good luck! Heather
  19. I go tomorrow for my 1st fill...I actully feel like Sh$t cuz I gained 5lbs....possibly 6lbs...I refuse to admit to any more lol!!! THe will power is fading! ahhhhhhh!!!! Fingers, toes, legs and arms crossed I feel restriction on my 1st fill!...Also I went back on birth control pills and I feel like a savage beast when it comes to my hunger
  20. I don't think I feel any different then before I was banded other then I feel pure guilt if I have too much to eat? Does the band do anything pre fill, do we have a pouch? Are we working on pure will power?
  21. Don't panic!!! My 1 big guy was looking a little odd and a little weird but was just fine...I read that some of the ladies were having allergic reactions up to 2 weeks after surgery due to the glue, so it can happen at any time. Go with your gutt, if you feel scared go to a clinic but if not I'd wait and see.
  22. I know what you are feeling. Mine started about 1 week post op and is still here to some degree at 5.5 post op. It’s a maddening feeling, highly annoying!!! I emailed Dr Ortiz about many times. His conclusion was I was sensitive enough to feel my band in place; his suggestion was to leave it be and if it persisted for a long time then medication would be in order…I don’t know what kind. This sensation for me has slowly gotten better, or maybe I just don’t notice it as much any more but it is definitely still there, I deal with it every day…..I’ve read a few thread about similar situations which made me feel less stressed. You are not going to stretch your pouch while on liquids, the band isn’t meant to restrict your fluid intake...so drink away!!!! Hot liquids or really really cold liquids help a lot with the sensation. Good luck, I hope yours get better soon!!
  23. I’m 5 weeks post op and feel like my motivation is dwindling…My hunger is back with a vengeance I haven’t lost any thing post op other then a few pounds, I know I have a empty band right now but none-the-less it is still discouraging kwim…I have my first fill next Friday….fingers and toes crossed that it gives me restriction…I honestly feel like I'm headed back to my old ways and the breaks don't work...ykwim!!
  24. I asked the receptionist and she says...Your Doctor or the company that booked the surgery...which is fine BUT I just hope it doesn't turn into something more KWIM. I just wondered if you knew more then me....I freak out easy!!! lol...Seems like alot went on today...hope things get better!!! Thanks Heather
  25. I got a phone call today from Dr DesCouteux office saying I need a written referral to see him for fills and such...did you know this??? I already had my appointment made...I emailed Andrew ASAP...He said he is in Mexico right now and will deal with it when he got back. I get so freaked out that I will need to travel to get fills..ugh..Just wondering what is going on now....I don't beleive this was like this before.. Anyways, I'm just rambling now Heather
