  1. Here's my take on wii fit... yes, it may not be as efficient as other forms of exercise, but it's fun and it gets me off my couch. so instead of sitting there watching tv i'm actually being active and burning calories. plus the yoga is so good for my posture and the body test allows me to track my progress.
  2. I went to the fill center in thorton, co. it was a very pleasant experience for me. I did have to wait in the waiting room what seemed like forever, but the doctor was very nice and funny. He gave me 3ccs and said to check in with him in a month. i guess it depends on the fill center but i was satisfied with my experience.
  3. I somehow managed to luck into getting a wii fit at the end of May. I have loved it. It's a lot of fun and it gets you off the couch. I would definately reccomend it to anyone! And my mii will soon be less chubby too!
  4. OMG michelle, you're a total genius!! Why didn't I ever think of that. I'm so sticking some workout DVDs in my queue!! Thanks for the tip!
  5. 10cc. i've been able to tolerate juice, brothe and a protien drink with no problems whatsoever so i'm thinking it's ok. We'll see what happens when i try to eat a carb.
  6. Good Luck!! Don't look at the needle, it looks way bigger than it feels.
  7. So getting the fill was fun, that big needle sure made for some drama... My doctor didn't use flouro, and he gave me 3ccs!! I hope it's not too much. I'm on liquids now and they're going down just fine. I have to remember to chew and go slow when i go back to solids! That's a prety aggressive fill from what i've read and seen. Yikes!
  8. I can eat anything. I definately eat less but of my 20 lb. weight loss 3-5 lbs keep coming and going. I can eat anything. Not that I'm trying to. I'm excited and nervous for my fill tomorrow because i think i really need it. I just want to lose or maintain. I hate gaining and losing the same weight over and over again. Anyway, wish me luck. I hope this fill gives my weight loss the kick it needs.
  9. I have an appointment with Fill Center in Thorton on July 29th for my first fill!! I will advise how it went! They've been very friendly so far.
  10. i lost 7 lbs in pre-op. 13 post-op. ive been gaining and losing the same 2-3 lbs for the last week. my one month anniversary was yesterday.
  11. here it is! a size 12 and i can't wait to get it zipped up!!
  12. sorry, i was editing it forever trying to get them sized right.
  13. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee101/r...nthprogress.jpg i don't see a huge difference, but my mom says i'm nuts.
  14. i did great on atkins, lost about 20 lbs in 6 months. But as soon as i tried to transition to normal eating patterns (including the occasional french fry) i gained it all back plus 10 lbs! then when i tried to go back on it it didn't work at all and caused my cholesterol to go UP!!!
  15. awesome post!!! I was a huge fan of oversized plates & bowls, but now they make my portions seem so small, so i'm going shopping for mini plates and cutlery. Its no wonder so many people struggle with weight and portion control.
  16. i'm so proud of you both, and thanks mamamichelle for posting that great article. It really makes fitness obtainable for anyone!
  17. what did Dr O say was causing all the throwing up? just curious... glad you're ok!
  18. i agree!!! I quit cold turkey 3 years ago and my BF had to quit to date me. I just feel like cigarettes are a legal addiction and the tobacco industry is totally evil. I'm so proud of anyone (who not unlike a bandster) makes the decision to change their life for the positive. So great job and keep up the good work, you'll be a better and healthier person for it!!!
  19. i have/had a lowish BMI when i decided to get the band and I'm really glad I did. I'm actually pretty athletic and workout 5-7 x a week. I just have a ridiculously hard time with portion control. I didn't understand why my weight ballooned suddenly when i stopped doing Atkins. But it did, i gained back the 20 lbs i lost and then 10 more just to twist the knife. I have always been really active and i felt it was VERY unfair that I would have to live my life on a diet to stay at a reasonable or healthy weight. Now with the band I don't have severe hunger issues. I know that if i've eaten my 3 meals and i'm wanting to snack it's head hunger and i'm invested in fighting that urge. I've tried EVERYTHING else and I was still backsliding into a very unhealthy place so I decided to put a stop to it. So don't worry about people judging you. If you know nothing else will work I say go for it and never look back. You're doing this for your health and for your self.
  20. it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. i had the lean cuisines for my pre-op and i loved them! I don't know how they're so tasty with so few calories!
  21. yeah, when i decided to get the band i resigned myself to being a wino. I used to drink PBR and jack and diet all the time. now if wine isn't good enough i'll just have a martini.
  22. i too am a gulper. I've started taking my gulps and holding them in my mouth and slowly letting them go down. But i feel like i'm not drinking nearly as much water as i used to... oh well. I still get my 8 glasses a day, so i guess it's ok.
  23. i've been lucky to have SV's ans NSVs lately but i think it's just so nice to fit back into the cute clothes i tucked away thinking "someday when i get my act together i'll wear these again". I think it's important to celebrate each victory we achieve!! So :lb10: to all the bandsters with victories over their past!!
  24. i have my first fill scheduled for exactly 7 weeks post op. i just started solids on the 3rd and i'm feeling no restriction which means i have to battle my inner voice saying "get seconds, i'm still hungry!". But i think this is a good preperation time to really test your resolve to eat less, and try to make healthier choices. We'll see if i'm singing a different tune in a couple more weeks
