  1. Well, here I am 4 weeks post op and feeling great. My first fill is in two weeks on June 3rd, which I have to say I am very ecited about. However before that I am heading to Orlando on business for 8 days. Whenever I travel I find it so difficult to stick to good eating habits. Does anyone have any ideas that I can take with me :-? , surely don't want to gain anything I have lost already. Thanks in advance for all your advice and support.
  2. I totally understand where you are coming from. I am 15 days postop and am still having to tuck a pillow under my stomache to support the area where the port is as it is still pretty tender. It does seem though every night I spend more and more time on more of my stomach. However, I agree turning over is still me having to wake up and turning my whole body. Hang in there as the port area heals it will get easier.
  3. Well, as I said I would keep everyone up to date. Today is 2 weeks since my surgery. Pain is pretty much gone, hunger is there but I am just fighting through it. Today is the day my doctor said I could start on solid foods. I will but I will also take it slow, everything has gone so smoothly I don't want to jeopordize anything. Since surgery I am down 7 lbs in 2 weeks plus the 10 I lost during preop diet. I will have my first fill in 4 weeks. Update to follow in a few weeks.
  4. I occasionally have the same pain and have been told it is gas. I tend to believe that since it comes and go and I notice it more after I eat something.
  5. My screen name MKLADY63 comes from the fact that I am a Mary Kay Consultant (have been for 8 years) and the 63 is the year I was born. I am 45 years old and have been married to my high school sweetheart for nearly 27 years and have been together for 29+ years. We have 3 grown children children, twin girls who will turn 24 in July. One is a new mommy to a 6 month old little boy (our 1st grandchild)and expecting # 2 in Nov. THe two babies will only be 12 mos. apart in age. The other twin is getting married on the 14th of June to believe it or not an identical twin (my twins are fraternal). We will see how that pans out for them when having children. Both girls are preschool teachers. Our son is 20 years old (will turn 21 in Nov.) and graduationg from college with his BA this summer. He has aspirations to be a movie producer and writer. I love to play SIMS 2 and spend time with the family. I work for the ARMY as a budget analyst and absolutely love my job. I was banded on 4/23, almost 2 weeks post op. Went back to the gym yesterday but just walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes, nothing too strenuous, but it felt good to be back at the gym, it is another big love of mine and I have missed it over the last two weeks. My weight problem hasn't been from the lack of exercise, but I have contributed to the problem starting 5 years ago when I had a hysterectomy, nothing but a battle since. But I do feel I am on my way to winning that battle. >
  6. WELL HERE I SIT THE DAY AFTER MY BANDING. EVERYTHING WENT PERFECT. GOT TO THE HOSPITAL AROUND NOON WAS OUT OF SURGERY AND AWAKE BY 3:00PM AND HOME AT 6:00. I HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL AND HAD NO PROBLEMS DRINKING WATER. TODAY HOWEVER I AM SORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FEEL LIKE I HAVE DONE A MARATHON OF SITUPS. I AM ALSO VERY TIRED, DID NOT SLEEP HARDLY AT ALL LAST NIGHT. BUT IT IS ALL UP HILL FROM HERE AND AM SO EXCITED. I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED ON MY PROGRESS. FIRST FILL IS PLANNED FOR 6 WEEKS POST OP.
  7. I GUESS I FINALLY MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE THE SURGERY AFTER GAINING BACK EVERYTHING I LOST ON WW AND THEN AGAIN ON JENNY CRAIG AND NOT BEING ABLE TO FIT INTO MY SIZE 16 CLOTHES, AT THAT POINT I SAID SOMETHING HAS GOT TO BE DONE. I STARTED MY RESEARCH, LAP BAND VS. GASTRIC BYPASS, AND DECIDED ON THE LAPBAND. I AM 3 WEEKS FROM MY SURGERY AND SO EXCITED ABOUT THE FUTURE. I WILL CHECK IN OFTEN WITH MY RESULTS AND COULD USE ANY ADVICE ANY HAS THAT HAS BEEN WHERE I AM RIGHT NOW.
