  1. Mona Just went back to the doctor on friday. My band is now full and when I left the office I did not fill restriction like I normally do. The dr stated she could not put any more saline in the band because it would put the band at risk. I am now discouraged, I have thousands of dollars invested in this and now without restriction capability I will start gaining weight. I am planning to call the doctor that performed the lap band. i do not want to say who done it because he is a wonderful doctor and I do not want to discourage anyone from using him. I just think I the exception to the rule for the Lap Band working. i will post again after I talk to the doctor.
  2. I have a VG band. my first fill was 5 cc, second was 2.2, third was .8 , fourth was 1 for a total of 9 cc. From what I have been reading in this fourm it mean that I will just require the large fills like I am getting. I guess I will not freak out about it yet. I will wait until the band is full and then see if it is a problem.
  3. I went to have a 4th fill last week and I have only lost 17 pounds since my first fill in July. My fill doctor made a comment that it is possible that the band that was put on my stomach may have been to large. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?
  4. I just had my first fill yesterday (July 13) and it was my birthday. Darlene also done my fill and I thought she was the sweetest thing. My problem is having to pay a fill center fee and pay the doctor. It seems like there should be a way to cut out the middle man, but it is what it is. Anyway, I had 5.3 cc and when I drink water I do not feel any restriction at all. She had stated she wanted to put in a little more but I had a feeling in my throat like I was choking so she stopped. I will be getting another fill in August in Moultry. I live about 2.5 hours away and it is a lot closer than Roswell. Anyway, best of luck to ya, maybe I will see in moultry.
  5. Congrats on the band. My surgery was on April 25, 2008 (my dads birthday and my new birthday). Things are going well with my new band, but I am struggling with the not eating, as I am sure many of you did. It is hard not getting discouraged but I have already lost almost 10 lbs and once I get to eat I know it will be worth it. I must say this forum has helped. I can read daily about people who are experiencing the exact same feelings I am having. Knowing that so many make it through this first two weeks is so encouraging. Thanks all for keeping it real.
  6. WOW! Thanks for that information. I took the several months back. I did not like the way they made me feel. Renay
  7. =D> after years of research this is finally going to come to pass. I am excited and a little nervous at the same time (which I sure is normal). Do any of you have any advice on what you wish you would have taken with you or what you may have done different? Anyone else with the same surgery date (April 25, 2008)?
