  1. Hi there!! Since I got my fill I feel the same way. I was told it was because I had a little swelling from my first fill, and the nerve that registers fullness in the band area is the same nerve in the back of my throat - the only thing that relieves this is hot or warm things. Cold restricts and gives you the lump in the throat. i have laid off cold drinks and it is really helping. good luck, and it does go away!
  2. My cycle is way off, I am getting it about every three weeks since my surgery. I was glad this topic was posted because I was wondering if it was just me.
  3. Hi there, My first fill was Wednesday, and as you know, I have had a lot of pain, after the process of elimination, it came down to this, cold drinks are constricting me too much. After I laid off the cold and started drinking hot and warm, the pain went away (Thanks to all of your advice). And, best of all, I have restriction!! Last night my husband and I went out and I had about 10 total bites of food and could eat not more! I am so excited, this is what we all have been waiting for. So, for all you new bandsters that are in "bandster hell", hang in there, it is definitely worth it!
  4. I also had my fill and FillCenter USA and I was told no liquids 4 hours before, and no solids 8 hours before. I was also told just warm liquids 24 hours afterwards
  5. I am just curious for all of you bandsters who have reached that "sweet spot", how many cc's do you have? Thanks for the info!!
  6. Thanks for all your input I did call the Center and they said what you did, stick to warm liquids for another day. I only drink cold things, so that may be my problem. Also, the outside of the gel capsule may still be there, it is really hard to desolve. I know I will never take another one for a long, long time. I have had two children, and this is the worse pain I have experienced. Again, thanks for all of your input.
  7. Hang in there, don't give up. Good things come to those who wait. You are doing everything right, I think you are going to see a big diffference real soon, or as soon as you get your fill.
  8. Congratulations to you! What an accomplishment. Keep up the good work
  9. You have MAJOR willpower! Good for you. Keep up the hard work
  10. Hi there, I got my first fill Wed. and got 2.0. Last night I took a gel caplet and had extreme pain with it, I have always taken them OK, but I guess I can't take them now. Anyway, everytime I drink something thicker than water- I am still on liquids- I get extreme back pain. Has this happened to anyone else? Help!! I don't want to drive 4 hours back for an unfill! Do you think I'm still swollen?
  11. Wow, I am so sorry about that. How does that happen under floro? I read in the Fill Center USA book that the port was made to withstand 1,000 sticks, so maybe it was faulty from the beginning? Let us know what happens
  12. Hi there! I am finally back from St. Pete for my first fill, exactly 6 weeks after my surgery. It was a long day, 4 hours there and then back, but it was worth it. Kathy at the St. Pete's office and her assistand Debbie was wonderful. They explained so much to me, and explained the procedure step by step. I was really happy with the way it was done, and, get this, they put 2.0 cc in my 4.0 band!! I was so excited, because I did not expect such an aggressive fill. She kept filling my band up because she wanted me to fill restriction, and I did not fill a thing until she went to 3.0 cc, and she said that was way tooo much for a first fill, she just wanted me to feell what it was like to have restriction, so she unfilled me to 2.0 cc, which is OK, since it is my first fill. I am on liquids for 48 hours, and then I will let you know if I can feel anything. Have a great day!
  13. I get my first fill 6/18, exactly six weeks after my surgery. I am so excited because I have no restriction. My understanding from this forum is that the first fill usually does not restrict very much, if at all. Usually the second one is better, and then after that....?????
  14. Good news!!! I got on the scale this morning and am DOWN 1/2 pound. I was sure I had gained weight since I was staying with relatives and it was so hard to stick with the program. Our bands are really great!! It enabled me to watch my portions, and I guess my food choices were not as bad as I thought. Before being banded, I was always up 5 - 6 pounds after my visits home. Have a great day!
  15. I spoke with the Dr. at OCC last night and he thinks it is gas. He said that sometimes the band does not allow the gas to escape so it builds up in your chest and back. I did not think I would still have gas 5 weeks post-op, but obviously this is a problem that may persist. He said to take the gas-x strips and walk a lot. So, I'm off to the gym this morning. Thanks for all of your replies.
  16. Congratulations with your new band!!
  17. Hi there!! I have been banded for five weeks and still find water my biggest challenge. Before being banded I was also a good water drinker, but i am just not thirsty anymore, so I have to be very conscience about it. What I am doing is rewarding myself after drinking 32 oz., like I can't have my coffee in the morning until after 32 oz. of water, and then in the afternoon I love iced tea and I will not allow myself a glass until after another 32 oz. This is the only way I can motivate myself to get enough water.
  18. Congratulations Paula!! How are you doing now?
  19. It is just a regular chain with charms - but anything that motivates you will work
  20. I'm have my first fill in St. Pete at Fill Center USA on June 18th. Will anyone else be there?
  21. Hi there! I am having my first fill at Fillcenter USA in St. Petersburg, FL on Jun 18th - will anyone else be there that date?
  22. Don't worry, I have blown it for a whole week, and I feel terrible! I am starting liquids tomorrow and hopefully that will put me back on track. Hang in there!!! One night of overindulgence is no big deal in the scheme of things!
  23. Hi there! I was wondering if anyone has experienced a severe tightening in their chest? It started a few days ago, and I'm not sure what it is. It is extremely uncomfortable. Thanks for your help
