  1. Ive had my band less than a year, but I do have a great doc in the Chicago area. His name is Dr. Vitello, he does fluoro, and is aggressive with fills. He is located in Downer's Grove IL. (just outside of CHicago) I found him through this forum, so I don't think he would mind if I posted his email address, jvituic@comcast.net Good Luck!
  2. You definitely took the high road. I congratulate you on your restraint. I know a lot of people that thrive on "drama", especially where I work. I would make it a point to tell her that you would appreciate it if she didn't BLAB about your personal life. I feel for ya girl Move on and show her that the Lap Band is working for you. That will be you're sweetest revenge! Take care
  3. LOL! I thought I was the only one. I am still on the creamy soups stage so I have been using my son's spoons. He always gives me this questioning look that I think means "Why are you using that spoon, IT'S MINE!!!"
  4. Jackson was a pitbull rescue, he taught everyone not to judge a book by its cover and was a great breed ambassador. We had to put him down about 7 months ago because of kidney disease/failure. Brutus is my little Maltese that thinks he's a pitbull. He is great with my son and he sleeps in the doorway of my son's room. True Watchdog
  5. I've kept it a secret... so far! My mom and dad want me to tell people, but I know that people will be judgemental, just like they were w/ a friend who had RNY. Plus people will say I didn't lose the weight myself, the band did it for me. Which is not true, as everyone on this forum can attest to. It is a tool, and I am working hard to follow the rules. My parents do have a valid point... What do you say to people down the road if you come clean? (I had to lie about the "vacation" and where I went) :dash2:
  6. I drank Isopure on the pre op diet. I don't like "shakes" more of a fruitty drink gurl, so I thought Isopure would be great. I agree with iamworthit, only palatable when ICE COLD. I tried the the Arctic fruit punch (ithink that's what its called) I added a packet of Splenda to it and it made it much better, it is very expensive too. At the Vitamin Shoppe, I paid $42 for 12 large glass bottles(1Liter?). I probably will not purchase again
  7. What a darling little girl, your son looks so happy to be around his new puppy! So sorry for your loss, Lucy looked like a great cuddlebear
  8. I have been banded!! Less than an hour ago. I walked, went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and changed clothes. No problems, pain only when i bent over. So far so good!!!
  9. Just wanted to run my checklist by everyone. Am I missing anything? 1's and 5's slip on shoes toiletries and clothes (of course) extra bag for goodies ipod and book chicken broth packets important phone # list camera How does cell phone reception work down there? I think I read in a previous post that calls made from the surgery center are free. Is that right?
  10. Congrats on the anniversary and lbs lost forever! and :cheerleader: way to go on quitting smoking :cheerleader: My last cigarette was 2 weeks ago and it is so hard!!
  11. Thanx! I think so too, but I'm a little bias I leave in the morning (7:50am) and get into SD around noon, see ya there
  12. You always have such great informative posts. I leave tomorrow morning and I'm very nervous. But with you and all the other bandsters advice and experience, the anxiety is melting away You guys are like Big (skinny) Sisters <' /> Thanks to everyone for sharing all your experiences!! See ya later Gotta go PACK!!!
  13. Congrats on the 20lbs! I've lost 15 and am getting nervous about surgery. This worst thing is that I have to leave my little guy at home. I've never been away from him one night let alone 4!
  14. I totally agree. I haven't posted very much, but have been lurking through the forum to help me decide whether the lap band is for me. The majority of people are following doctor's orders, the ones that aren't seem to want to "confess" and jump back on the bandwagon. I enjoy the support and camraderie that I've seen in this forum. Everyone seems so close and I hope to get to know everyone soon
