I was banded nearly 2 weeks ago (6/23).....I was there with my sister and son. My son tortured a few of you by opening a pack of M&M's while we were supposed to be dieting the night before surgery:>) He told everyone about the good natured teasing he took for that! My memories about the events of the surgery are a bit of a blur....I can't remember names but do remember your faces and hope you're all well. I've lost 13 lbs, but have stopped getting on the scale so I don't obsess about the numbers at this stage. Hope to hear about everyone's progress! Julee

I was banded last Monday, the 23rd and am having pain on my upper left side, which I assume is related to the port. For those of you further out, how long were you sore after surgery? I've been moving around (which has helped the gas) but also try to get off my feet when I feel the pain. Is this normal or am I overdoing it? In spite of the discomfort, I am so wonderfully pleased with my whole experience at the OCC. Looking forward to Monday....creamy soup sounds great!!!!

I will finally become a bandster on Monday. I hope to put the extended period of obesity behind me for good. There is a thin, hot, healthy girl waiting to emerge...and I will be happy to introduce her to all of you wonderful people!

Hi Yakima- Looking forward to meeting you and your friend. How exciting to be doing this together! I'm also arriving on the 22nd.....I was told I'd have my pre-op tests and the surgery on the same day. I hope this doesn't mean I'll be waiting around the clinic all day. My sister is flying in from Portland to come with me...she's looking forward to a mini-vacation! Keep in touch.

Hi Everyone, I am new here and will be banded on June 23rd. It's a Monday and I was told I'd have my labs and surgery on the same day. I'm wondering how long the labs and other pre-op procedures will take......and how long I'll have to wait around before my surgery? Has anyone else had their procedure done on a Monday? I've been frantically reading this board for the last few days and am so inspired by all of you. Jules

I'm brand new here and just confirmed my surgery for June 23rd.....so excited! I'm coming from Los Angeles and am considering taking the train to San Diego. I wonder if I could be met there? Otherwise, I'll take a cab to the airport. I would love to meet up with anyone arriving the same day.
