I'm kind of worried about how sore my port site is. The incision looks fine, but I am relying heavily on ibuprophen to keep it from burning when I move around. I was banded on the 26th of May. Did any of the rest of you experience prolonged pain there? I haven't had abdominal surgery before, so I'm not sure what is normal.

I was banded on May 26th, and haven't lost any weight. I felt like I was starving a few of the first days. I'm not taking in more than 1000calories, at most. Thoughts? How long does the pain from the port incision last? Sometimes mine burns like mad. Did anyone need other medication besides the stuff they sent home with us? I've been taking ibuprofen to ease that burning pain.

They don't want you to have any water 8 hours before testing and surgery. You can have a sip with any meds you take, but that's it.

:lb12: This is the first time I've posted on this forum. I was banded on the 26th too. I am disappointed in my lack of any weight lost. I feel like I've been starving and have been very careful not to take in too many calories, and still nothing. No diarrhea, and almost no poops at all. I'm not just sitting around either. So what the heck? The spot where my port is sometimes burns like crazy. Anyone else experience that? After I used up the medication they sent us home with I started on ibuprophen. I have a LOT of pain at that port site if I don't take it. I'm wondering if I'm just a whimp when it comes to pain.
