  1. Thank you Chad for explaining how to find the size of the pictures. My pics are all too big, they are 164 KG or 176 KG. Since this is the only camera I have I guess I won't be posting a picture. Oh well.
  2. I don't know the size but it's a jpeg image that I've used as my avatar on other sites. That's all the message says. How do I find out the size of the image? sorry for the questions... Thanks again,
  3. Congratulations, Stormy!!! Welcome to bandland!!! Best wishes!!
  4. I've tried to upload pics for my avatar but keep getting a message about contacting a board administrator??? Please help. Thanks!
  5. Good Luck, Stormy!!!! you are at the start of a fabulous journey!!!! it's very sweet you miss your son so much. I confess I didn't cry over my 3 little ones once. I was just amazed how much sleep I got, lol. I missed them, of course, but look on this time as a mini vacation if you can. Concentrate on relaxing!!! Big Hugs,
  6. Enjoy that 1st meal!!! I had 2 chicken strips (fried, I know not so good for you) but my god they were good!!! I also had about 3 bites of salad and 4 french fries and I was FULL! Unfortunately, I am no longer feeling that restriction from surgery, so I have to push away from the table, lol.
  7. I have stayed the same since starting solids. I'm not disappointed because I know the weight WILL come off. I certainly could eat more than I am, and feel like I am using willpower a lot of the time. I have scheduled my first fill for Sept. 29 (the soonest my work schedule allows). I am being vigilent about no ice cream, no empty liquid calories but I am eating. I've stuck to the protein first rule but I am now able to eat close to what I ate before being banded...ugh!!! I just resumed exercising so I am hoping that will let me hold what I have lost until I get to my fill.
  8. Heidi, Hang in there it gets better!!! Keep sipping your liquids and the hunger will probably subside fast.
  9. Hi all I am getting my first fill on September 29th, Monday!! Congratulations to everyone getting banded in September!
  10. Arlene, I think you are wise getting everything checked out! Wishing you good luck:)
  11. Hi Jessica, I don't know about the acidy feeling since I didn't have it but I remember being so worried at everything after the surgery because I didn't want to mess something up. I'd call them at the OCC since when I have emailed it has taken a few days to get a reply. I hope it goes away soon, sending hugs your way!!!
  12. Hi Vix, Glad you are home and feeling good!!! Do take it easy if you are feeling sore, but it will pass fast:)
  13. Congratulations Jessica!!!! I had that shoulder pain/gas for several days. Just remember it goes away, and it's SO worth it!! You know you are the highway to slimland now that you are a bandster:)
  14. Hi from Kansas City, Vix!!! You Did it!!!! I'm so excited for YOU!!! Hope you are continue to feel good. Just remember to keep sipping something all the time:) !! Many Hugs!!
  15. Congrats on your fill, Kathy!! You are looking so gorgeous!
  16. Thanks Kim for the info. I kinda forgot about the protein water, that should help with keeping the full feeling! I will also try the sugar free jello:)
  17. Welcome back, Cathy!! Glad you ate well on your vacation, sorry to hear that it rained. I always seem to bring rain with me when I go on trips.
  18. Yes, I lost on the post op liquid diet. By the 21st day, I didn't even want to look at soup and had to force myself, lol. I haven't weighed since then, I am sticking to a once a week weighing to keep myself sane:)
  19. I have a question for anyone. I have only been on solids since Friday and I'm not having snacks at all. The reason is I don't want to eat some little bit of something and not be able to drink for an hour. How do you all get your water/liquid in if you snack?
  20. I love the protein powder made by Syntax Nectar...can be found at www.prosource.com. It doesn't have to be blended, it truly dissolves with stirring. You can spinkle it on cereal, yogurt, etc. During the liquids phase I mixed mine with pineapple juice. They come in lots of flavors. My favorite is the Carribbean cooler which tastes just like a pina colada. I also have the fuzzy navel, the roadside lemonade, twisted cherry and more. The protein is whey protein. I don't taste an aftertaste with these like I have with some other brands I frequently make ice tea and just add a teaspoon of the roadside lemonade and stirr! Much less expensive than the special k protein water per serving and very yummy.
  21. I watched the Youtube videos Dr. Ortiz has produced. He says that while not eating so much reduces the stomach some, the first time you eat a big ol burger the stomach is able to easily accomodate the food and restretch. He says something like a normal stomach holds 2 LITERS while our new banded "top" stomach is designed to hold a half a cup. I found the videos very interesting.
  22. Phoenix and Kim, Have you ever heard someone complain they can't put weight on??? Why isn't that contagious, lol!!! I don't have any answers but sending lots of MOJO.
  23. Hi Vix, I don't know the science of it, but I found the Gax X to be a big help. I did have shoulder pain for about a week. It was worst the first day or two. Walking really helps with the gas pain, imho. I have some gas tonight, feel like I need to burp, but I drank my liquids too fast at dinner. I knew I was doing it, but for some reason, didn't stop. Tomorrow I start solids and I know going slow is going to be a challenge for me!
  24. You are gorgeous in both sets of pics, Misty. You must be so happy with your success!! Congratulations!!!
