I wish that some one would make a lap band cookbook that would take you through the whole lap band experience from liquids stage to mushy stage to drop the pounds to maintain stages I do see several good ideas on here about try this and try that but it would just be so handy to have it at your finger tips just a thought

well I just checked craigs list and found a gazelle for 25 bucks so that is doable .thanks to all who replyed .I geuss that I need to get my treadmill back from neice and start slow .

I am very interested in finding out how you all exercise .I know that the lap band is a tool but exercise is a must too .I am over 100lbs over weight and can barely walk a block without being out of breath .I do not know if I can exercise .I would love to aquacise however I am way to concerned about showing my body in a swimsuit in public . I also would love to take my bike for a whirl but could not get out of the drive without being winded .So how can I think of exercise when I am in such poor shape .any suggestion would be helpful .Did you all wait till some of the weight came off to start to exercise ?

I too love my cats goober girl and say say marie . Goob looks like your missy and say say is a pure black cat and both are love dovey cats that I have had for about 11 years and are there for me even though my kids have grown and moved away

thanks everyone will just have to keep the faith and pray for answers I figure if all else fails I will pay to go back to the occ just will need to budget it in . sorry that it took so long to thank all that replyed had to go to Iowa for the week to help pregant daughters yes both are pregant and think they need their mom once in a while and no I am not complaining I did get to spend quality time with my 1 year old grandson that I just love to peices

can any one anyone at all tell me who does fills in northern missouri or southern iowa that had their lap band done with dr ortiz I would like to get this all figured out before surgery instead of later . and yes I have done some homework and the fill center is about 5 hours away I could go to kc and book a flight to san deigo and have dr ortiz's office do it faster and cheaper with the price of gasoline . any sugestions at all would be greatly appreciated . thanks in advance for all that have helped to this point

do to all the rain and flooding in my neck of the woods no garden this year .I really do miss it and my wonderful tasty tomato sandwich will most definatly be missed this year

goodness gravy girl call the occ it is toll free and what do you have to lose [ besides weight ] lori was so nice to me over the phone and even talked to dr .ortiz about health problems over the phone that I thought might hold me back from getting the band and yes it was kinda scary for me to make the call but was glad I did . there is no way I would be put on a waiting list for surgery to be done a year or more from now yes I am from missouri . and I refuse to jump through hoops for something that I need you proably know the routine go to seminar ' book a consult' see a thearpist ' get theripist approval ' see a deitiecian ' go back for another consult ' then be put on a waiting list what a bunch of hog wash I called lori and dr ortiz said to come on down had time for the following month now that was a little to soon for me due to the fact that both my daughters are having babies soon and wouldn't miss that for the world but Lori said call when I am ready I was shocked no bull**** to go through well just a thought

thanks so much for the words of encouragement . yes I do plan on going to dr ortiz I have done tons of research with the help of family and decided he has about the most experience so it will be him for sure . It is hard to believe that my son inlaw is an it specialist and I have not mastered this computer yet oh well I mess it up and he fixes it that is how it goes and thanks for the useful info about tech support .yes I do have questions and tons of them .just 1 for now what is that monday night chat thing and how do I find it .also anything you might have good or band of your journey would be nice

it is just that I am new to computers in general and my kids set me up with myspace to keep in touch with them in iowa .I have a hard time trying new things like this forum .any who I like to see peoples profiles on myspace and check out family pics of people and see how far they have come .on this forum few post pics that is sad for new people like me who are waitng to be banded .also it was hard for me to register in . like I said I am computer handicap so bear with me .you all seem so nice and was just curious about it . I didn't quite understand why when I went there [ myspace] to the occ I recognized few names .

you are doing great I can only hope that I do this great . I am brand new to this . I am hopeing to get banded this summer . Is tere anything you might want to clue me in on before I go.
