  1. Hello, everyone. I had my first fill Saturday at OCC. It was just as you guys described. It was amazing seeing how the port works. However, the needle hurt a little bit. I am just a baby. ( I am on creamy soups for three days, I will be able to eat tomorrow (Monday). =D> I will keep you posted on my restriction. I know I will have questions. Thanks for all the support.
  2. Thanks for the support and feed back. I will update you when I get back. :-h Thanks Tee.
  3. Hello everyone. I have my first fill tomorrow. I am excited and nervous. I pray for good restriction, because I can eat more than a third of my food. I had my surgery July 7 and have lost only 12lbs. Will I be in trouble for not losing more weight? This forum has been so helpful. Things that I struggle with, I see that I am not alone. I just read and if I have any concerns or questions they are usually answered. You all are so awesome!!! > Thanks for being so supportive. It is truly a blessing to see so many people who are genuine and always ready to help. Please keep my in your prayers as I travel. Thanks, Tee
  4. I figured I had a stretched pouch by the amount of food I am able to consume. I ate solids before my three weeks were up. Dr. O was not a happy camper. The pain is on my right side toward my back. Thanks for letting me know where everything is located and for the feedback. Tee
  5. Hello everyone. I was banded on July 7 at OCC. I did not do well with my post-op diet. That was short lived because Dr. O had a talk with me that I will never forget. I was back on track after that. I am on solids now and I have been able to eat the same amount as I did before. I feel like a loser. Hard habits are hard to break. I am having pain on my right side. How do you know if you have stretched your pouch? What do you do if you have stretched your pouch? I am freaking out and I hope all is well. Any advice? Thanks, Tee
  6. I am having trouble also with the chat. It would not load for me. I tried and tried. I wonder if it is full? Let me know if you figure something out. Tee
  7. Vix, Oh my!!!! I had the same situation. It is a hard one and I hope I can offer some comfort. My husband is an athlete. He played college ball and then proceeded to play professionally. When he has weight issues he can just cut back and work out and drop weight with no problems. However that is not the case for me. I have tried for 10years to lose weight. I have tried diet pills, fasts, liquid diets, body for life and I could go on and on. I read about the lap band in a magazine. I decided that it was something that would help me physically and emotionally. I was border line diabetic( if there is such a thing), I had high cholesterol, a spastic colon from stress. My health was at stake. I found a surgeon in Dallas and made my appointment. So I decided to talk it over with my husband and he blew a fuse. "Self Control" is what he said I needed. To get a grip. Exercise and eat right is all I heard over the course of two weeks, and why are you eating that or why are you eating so much. I decided to cancel my appointment. Over the next two months all I could think about was the lap band. So I went on line and looked up lap band surgeons and found Dr.O. I checked him out and his facilities and decided to do it. I wanted to talk with my husband but did not want to hear his mouth. I knew it was wrong. So four days before my surgery I told him what I was doing and informed him that I was doing this for my health whether he agreed with it or not. I told him I loved him and I wanted his support, but if he did not want to support me that was his prerogative. He asked how was I going to pay for it, my husband is a penny pincher also. Who was doing the surgery? Where was the surgery? I told him I was financing it and paying a low monthly payment. I told him a doctor named Dr.Ortiz. I said I was having the surgery in Mexico. That did not settle well with him. He thought I was making the biggest mistake in my life by going to Mexico. He was very skeptical and thought I was so naive. So I actually called and spoke with Dr. O and he talked with my husband and answered all his questions. Let me tell you my husband is very thorough. He was at ease a little. I had my surgery on July 7th. Everything is going well. My attitude has changed and I finally feel I have my life in control. I have lost a total of 18lbs!!!! I have something that will assist me in my weight loss. It has been the best decision I have made. It was something I had to do. I am sorry if I rambled, but I wanted you to know I feel your pain. I hope this help and you can write me anytime. I will keep you in my prayers. Tee
  8. I was wondering the same thing. I am able to drink a lot of liquids before I feel full. I am so scared about starting solids. I have four more days. Please help!!!!!!
  9. Flan, I live in Norman. Where do you live?
  10. I heard the same things except, I have one that will beat them all!!!! I was asked if I was having a baby! #-o All I could do was laugh. I plan to go back, this time I hope I can be a pretty lady instead of a pregnant one!
  11. Thanks guys. I was just making sure I was normal. Okay, I feel stupid asking this question, but I am not computer savvy. How do you get all the info about yourself on the screen? Weight Tracker? Fancy designs?
  12. Okay. I have another concern. My port sticks out and I can feel it, from what I heard from the forum this is normal, but mine seem to be a little painful and sticks out more so when I eat(creamy soups) or drink. Is this normal?
  13. Thanks everyone for all the input. I can relax now. Jessi if you do not mind me asking, how much did it cost for you to go to Florida?
  14. Thanks Julie. I know I would have been upset. Thanks for the heads up. I had my band surgery at OCC also. I trust them. I am trying to avoid traveling back to Mexico for another fill in a month. I just want to make sure I have enough restriction. I look forward to chatting more with you guys and gals here on the forum. Really helpful.
  15. Thanks Will. Do you feel enough restriction with the 5cc? I know everyone is different, I was just wondering. I am afraid I will not have enough restriction since I am able to drink a lot of liquids right now. I am excited to see how the band works. What part of South Carolina do you live in? My in-laws live on Kiawah Island. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it!
