  1. I was banded on 7/1/08 lost 82lbs and I became concerned about how I looked after seeing a pic of myself I decided to have the fill removed;after having the fill removed I began to eat more and have gained about 10lbs. Now I'm concerned about the extra weight (I look healthier and feel much better)just don't want to gain anymore but would like to loose about 5 vanity lbs. Can anyone give me some advise on how to shed 5lbs and maintain a healthy weight without having a fill. I have began running 40min p/d 3-4 times p/w and I climb 13 flights of stairs 5 times p/w. THANK YOU LADIES FOR GREAT ADVICE!! I'LL TRY TO REMEBMER THE WORDS OF DR SO....IF THIS CONTINUES MAYBE I'LL SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP---AGAIN THANKS!!
  2. Hi Lea32!! Mines too was a slowwww process; I was banded on 7/1/08. I started out at 208lbs and now I'm down to 139lbs!! It took me about 4 fills until I could feel the restriction and begin to loose serious weight. I think it's different for everyone but be patient and continue to get your fills--I promise when you get to your sweet spot the weight will just melt off. Begin an exercise routine this builds muscle and can possibly speed up your weight loss. Not sure what PB'd or Slimed is so if you get a chance please explain-- remember be patient
  3. I'm really proud of you and the progress you've made; but I had my first fill on 7/31 and I don't feel any restriction. They didn't use the flouro they just felt around so the only way the could tell if they were in the port was if they were able to pull some fluid back out. Anyway I'm going back on 8/14 to have them check it out.
  4. Thanks to all that replied; I truly appreciate your advise and opionions--thanks again
  5. As you know I had my first fill on 7/31, but I don't feel any restriction; I felt more restricted before my fill. I was instructed to eat solids on the 3rd day and about 3 days after eating solids I should notice the restriction well I don't. Is this normal? My doctor had a hard time locating my port because I didn't have it filled during surgery but she was confident that she'd gotten 4cc's in. She also suggested that I call her today to let her know if I wanted to come back in this week but when I spoke with her I chose not to because I wanted to give the adjustment time to kick in. She did say that I could come back in next Thursday but my 2nd fill is scheduled for the Aug 28th. Can you give me some advise?
  6. It's true!! I had my first fill on 7/31 and it's a small needle mark, no bruising or severe pain just discomfort when you touch the area or bend over at least that's what I experienced. Really it is painless compared to the port pain after surgery.
  7. Hi!! I'm a "newbie" and I happened upon this website. I had my surgery performed locally in Indiana on 7/1/08. My first fill was yesterday (7/31/08) I've only lost 6lbs but everyone on this site has been really successful. I want to know if my slow weight loss is typical or if I'm being impatient. I chose the band because it was the least complicated and I know they said we should lose a healthy 1-2lbs per week but when I see others who've had the surgery it's like one day they're overweight and the next they're tiny. I'm also being treated for an underactive thyroid this affects my metabolism but still I was hoping to have lost a more than 6lbs. I have the Realize Band which is 9cc's and my fill yesterday was 4cc's. By the way MamaMichelle I love your blog!! You are an amazing person
