  1. #1 how long has it been since you're surgery? Just making sure you're following a post op diet. Eating solid foods to soon can cause all sorts of problems. #2 you shouldn't be eating sandwiches, bread especially soft bread can get stuck (some people end up being able to eat bread, but the vast majority have problems with it). If you have to eat bread type food, hard breads are best #3 I "think" you're not supposed to eat salad either with the band. I think I remember reading this, but can't say for sure. Someone else may be able to confirm or deny this. and finally, when someone says "It hurts when I do this" generally the best answer is "Don't do that then".
  2. Inamed and Realize bands have slight differences. Inamed has a port that is manually sutured to the abdomen wall. Realize has a "self anchroing port". It has a stapler type device that is placed over the port that activates 4 hooks. The hooks once activated loop around piercing the abdomen wall and lock into place. Ortiz prefers inamed because the Realize port is placed using the stapler without any direct observation. You can't see what you're attaching it to. Ortiz prefers the Inamed so that he can watch directly where and how he sutures the port to the abdomen wall. This way any risk of piercing a blood vessel is minimal. This was the reasoning he gave me when I asked him prior to surgery. Inamed's band is also different than the Realize's band. They hold a different amounts of fluid and they're inflating tubes are constructed differently.
  3. Stress can increase you're BP significantly and you've just had a stressful event. As you said, I'd give it 2-3 more days and if it doesn't return to normal I'd go to your primary care phsyician. Welcome to the forums.
  4. My gf was banded Aug 25th with 4 small 1/4 inch incisions and 1 about 1 inch. The smalls ones you can't see unless you actually look for them already. The larger one will probably be noticable but its still only 1 inch.
  5. occasionally, I've found that depending upon how I stand on the scale can affect the weight by a few pounds. For example, putting the weight up near my toes, back on my heels, or evenly distributed. Its probably not like that for every scale, but my digital one has the sensor pads in contact with the floor but only where your heels are. The fronts pads are merely pads and sort of act as a hinge which throws the weight off I believe if you don't stand on it right. Also make sure your body touches nothing when weighing .Don't grab anything for balance for example and expect an accurate weight. The weight relieved by resting your hand on a counter can be more than you think, people arms can weigh 10-30lbs. Other things: The cloths you wear can affect your weight(I'd suggest when weighing just hop on it each morning when you get out of the shower naked). Women also vary weight much more than men especcially during the TOM(but even outside that).
  6. My gf and you have very similar bodies(weight, height, proportions), I really hope she turns out as well as you have. Shes getting her first fill in a few weeks
  7. I financed my gf's lapband surgery and I went through my local regions bank and got an $8500 line of credit @ 9% interest without any problem. I don't own a house, my debt at the time was about $25k in a car loan and college loan, and my credit rating was ~700-720(can't recall exactly, was a few months ago). Just an fyi
