  1. I'm now down 30 pounds! Yeah! It's been coming off very slowly, but at least it's coming off! I've had one fill so far, and will go for another after Thanksgiving. Must say I can't stomach protein shakes any more. If I have to fast, I'll use the Unjury Chicken Soup flavored packet. That what I used before and after my fill. I found an awesome new food product at the store. It's Phillips Steam In Bag Shrimp. It comes in different varieties. One bag contains two servings of shrimp. One serving is 22 grams of protein! To get protein in at lunch time, I will have a "Think Thin" bar. They have 20 grams of protein. And I'll have a small cup of chicken (Healthy Request) soup. Enough ramblings for now..... Hope my fellow banders are doing great!

    Day 13 post surgery

"Slime"....what a good description! I will take your suggestion and try making my own food. I've graduated to the soft food phase and can have tuna, minced chicken. Next week I'm going on vacation, and brining my blender! Thanks for the info. Patti
  4. I was banded on 8-22-08 and am on the mushy food stage. It seems like I can eat anything! Today I weighed myself, and I gained 5 pounds!! I feel really disheartened!! (
  5. Still down 21 pounds. I am having trouble getting protein in. I really am sick of all the shakes I've had to endure pre and post surgery. Today I mixed an Unjury unflavored protein packet in with 2 tablespoons of hummus. It was tolerable. I have visions of eating real food again, but don't know when exactly I'll be able to do so. If I mix a shake with icecubes, it tends to be too thick, making me burp. The small baby food jars (pureed chicken and broth) has been helpful, but not enough grams of protein. I'm also trying to stick to not mixing food and drinks. I time myself after a meal. Today's liquid has been 1/2 cup coffee, 2 cups of tea, and 1/2 bottle of Propel. I know I need to drink more liquid. I'm also using a heating pad on my belly that has been making gurgling sounds. It also helps my cold hands. Any idea how much longer until I can chew something, and swallow it? (I must admit if I try regular food, I chew it up and then spit it out).

  7. Hi Folks, I'm on day 13 post-surgery. I had a weird night last night, and want to know if other folks have had this happen. I really, really wanted to feel something crunchy in my mouth, so I bought some Doritos Sweet Spicy Chili. I put one in my mouth, sucked off the spices and spit out the cracker into the kitchen sink. I feel guilty for wanting to have old familiar foods. As for my weightloss, I'm done 21 pounds. I had gone down to 250, but after a couple days went back up to 253. Here's my plan for today. Babyfood (1 jar) for breakfast (Chicken & Broth), 1/2 cup coffee. Later, 1/2 cup of tea (no sugar). For lunch I'm going to have a couple tablespoons of hummus. Later I have some baby food bananas. I'm really turned off from the protein drinks and broth. Am I sabotaging myself? Blinkie Maker url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wPPAQLt/] [/url]
  8. I got banded on 8-22. Now I'm on day 12 post surgery, and have incorporated hummus into my diet. I also had watered down mashed potatos. I wonder how long it will be before I can have real food, and not feel like I'm going to burp after eating. down 21 pounds
