  1. Yes, my husband got me one of those Jack LaLane juicers and I really like it. It's a healthy way to get my vits and miinerals in, although I still take supplements. My chiropractor says you only really need 4-6 gms of protein per day and that the body eliminates the rest thru urine. I am quase going into the solid phase and still get full after a cup of something. I felt that it would be too much of a shock to my system if I went solid foods all at once, so am doing half and half right now. Next week will do more solid foods. Don't have much of an appetite and sure enjoy food when I do eat. I HATE tv commercials. No wonder America is getting fatter! It sure starts the cravings! Anyone else experience this?
  2. I'm a Nov. fill and am looking forward to it. I'll probably go Nov. 3, get my fill and return the next day to Vancouver. We're in the process of selling our home and moving and don't want to be away for too long. Am looking forward to eating smaller amounts and more variety. Have lost some good weight but am at a plateau right now. One day I'm 156, then 157 and then back to 156. This yo-yo stuff is annoying but I've been told that this is when we take off inches. Can't get impatient!
  3. Making It Big has outstanding clothes. They are based out of Cotati, CA(just north of SF), owned and operated all by women and is a very small business, but they do a big business. Their clothes last me years and made exceptionally well! They are online. Request a catalog.
  4. I had a problem at first of going the other end - runny stool. It only lasted about a week and now I am very regular, but then I always have been. I like the idea of prune juice with butter warmed up. Good luck!
  5. What you are experiencing is gas. Get some GAS-X.. It really will help.
  6. Can I ask why you aren't returning to Tijuana for the fills? I've heard horror stories of people going to other places and receiving several fills, while Dr. Ortiz believes in only two. Do your homework and good luck!
  7. Sorry to say this, but perhaps you need to read the literature the Clinic gave you about what you can eat right about now. Be careful as I heard too much enthusiasm about being able to eat solid foods again. I, too, prefer to cook rather than packaged foods (actually, it was the hardest phase for me the Lean Cuisine meals) but it got me to see that I just don't have a "normal" relationship with food or else I wouldn't need a lap band! Good luck on the cruise as there's a lot of temptation to splurge.
  8. I'm post surgical for 5 days and am so bloated, so full of gas, watery stool and mildly in pain. Boy, I sure hope this band is worth all this! Any suggestions for these problems? I'm actually afraid to go to bed. I wake up on my side and my stomach is so tight. Last night woke up PBing, didn't throw up but had the watery mouth. Walked it off but I am not getting sleep because of this. Please, please, please......any body got any ideas on help with this?
