  1. See y'all are lucky, y'all got to wear some... I didnt get to wear anything!!! lol lucky ducks
  2. Shoot, I was 2nd... I got it done at a local hospital here in Fort Worth Texas.... I got there at 5am... and They started putting the sleepy medicine in at uh 7ish... Last thing I remember the anestisiologist (sp?) came in and said that they just finished the first patient and he needed to start me on the medicine that completly knocks you out... I remember him putting it into the IV and looking at my boyfriend at the time to tell him I loved him, lol I dont even think I got past the word "I" lol cause when i came out my boyfriend now Fiancee asked me what I was trying to say to him... But he beat me to it.
  3. It is very normal to be like that... I too am like that. Sat morning I stepped on the scale i was at 238 yesterday afternoon I was at 246... by this morning i was back down to 237 I've been told by alot of people to go back on the soup phase to trick your body back into losing weight... Most have told me it works
  4. Thank you for the information it will definitally come in handy!!! Also, I would like to add, the people doing the "poor me" bit are also people who start up some of the stuff that has been going on.
  5. Sometimes when you twist or bend the wrong way your port will move a second and go right back to the position it was in. I was banded oct 20, and still have some tenderness around my port area at times... It could just be that you are moving alot. If your worrid about it I would call your Dr. and talk to him/her about it...
  6. I was the same way!!! I felt that if I was mad, pissed off, or sad or just whatever... I could call any one of my friends and we would go "hang out" which usually consisted of going to a restaurant and eating lunch or dinner... Now I'm finding myself feeling voulnerable (SP?) I guess you could say. Easily attacked or takin advantage of. I can't hide behind food anymore, and food can not be a friend. You want a friend to ALWAYS be there for you. You cant talk to food, you cant tell them how you feel. It just makes you fill like you have a companion because its there, and you dont have to face your troubles, you take the easy way out. For heavy people, food is the easy way out, Their bored, they dont go walking, they grab a snack sit their butts on the couch and watch t.v. They got dumped by some loser, Grab Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and watch a romantic movie on the couch... Ben and Jerry will always be there for you. Their sad, Grab food, its always there and never leaving. You got that new job offer or have something to celebrate, what do you usually do, GO OUT to eat... Or thats how it was for me and my family. Yes, we have obsticales to face, but we can do it, We went as far as getting the surgery done, why waste the time and money if your not going to work for it. You cant let little things make you mad. But its also no big deal to let someone know how you feel,. “Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.”
  7. I find myself at times getting on the scale at least 3 times a day. It just depends on you. Get on the scale whenever you want. If you find yourself becoming obsessed with the scale, lay off a couple of days. A very wise lady that used to be on this site always said she gets on the scale once a day. That way if she gains a pound, she knows what she did the day before, and will correct it next time. I used to get on the scale once a week. Now, its whenever i want. Some people wait til they go to their dr. some want to know. Like I said its up to you!!!
  8. That is true. Dawn, there WERE two wonderful ladies on this site, who helped out ANYONE & EVERYONE. No matter if it meant they had to do some research themselves. Not to get you mixed up in stuff, but there are a few on here who haven't lost weight in a while, and are telling people how to eat, what to eat, and when to eat. Hence, is the reason why their not losing any weight. If you ever need help, anyone on here is willing to help you. Me, Jazzy, shrty835, and Kensgirl, all have learned quite a few things from Cathy and Jann so feel free to ask us... or post a topic again, if you ever have another issue, cause some people will be willing to help.
  9. JAZZY where are you when we need you?!? lol just kiddin girl... i know your the best and will be able to answer this truthfully!!!
  10. Patients!!! You HAVE to have patients not matter what!!! Some people see it come off fast, on the other hand some people see it come off slow. I'm one of the fast ones. Well from what I've seen I am. I havent hit the 2 month period yet and I've already lost 31 pds. It just depends on how your body takes to the band at first. I was very slow at first with losing the weight, and thought it was NEVER going to come off, I never sat there and had a pity party, cause it seems from what I've seen in other people, it makes matters worse!!! Eventually it will all come off. You just have to take your time. It's not a magic pill and its not going to happen over night, and anyone that tells you other wise is well all i gotta say is "DEE DE DEE"
  11. I did the same thing before PRE-OP. I went to EVERY one of my favorite Restaurants.... Chili's, Don Pable's, Sammies Bar B Q... Those of you in Fort Worth, know its a dang good restaurant!!! Every Beverage that I put in my mouth was SODA... Either Coke, Dr. Pepper, or Pepsi. Even at dinner and I NEVER did that before, I always had tea.... I was horrible. But now, I can no longer say I eat out every night. I usually go out once a week now, and even thats hard, cause i have to order the kids menu and go from there... But yes it will ALL be worth it in the end!!!
  12. Found this on a website for you PROS: 1. These machines do provide a great cardio workout - we worked up a good sweat and our hearts were pumping. 2. Tread climbers offer a low impact workout, especially good for people with knee or back problems. 3. They are easy to use once you learn how, and offer good control and displays. CONS: 1. The Nautilus Treadclimber and Bowflex Treadclimber are somewhat expensive. At $1,500 to $2,200 for the high end models, these machines are 10-20% more expensive than most treadmills, and 30-50% more expensive than most elliptical trainers and steppers. 2. Maximum speed is only 4mph, so you can't really run or even jog...the tread climber also doesn't allow for long strides. 3. The motion does take some getting used to..your feet can slip between the belts if you're not careful.
  13. I Personally LOVE the treadclimber, its EASIER on my feet... And feel like I get a better work out done when i am Finished
  14. When You create your ticker, make sure you copy the WHOLE code, there will be two... if the first one doesnt work try the second one
