  1. I want to have my band removed back in the OCC and would appreciate any info regarding this subject. Thank you.
  2. Have any of you had your band removed? I want to return to the OCC to have mine removed and would appreciate any info regarding this subject. Thank you.
  3. HI Everyone I need to schedule my first fill pronto!! I just spoke to dr so and occ and he assures me it's fine to fly in, get fill, and fly back home--all on the same day. I would love to hear from those of you who have done that. Do any of you wish you would have stayed the night for adjustment issues or any problems?!!!!! Thank you in advance for sharing any advice. I'd rather get it all done in one day but I'm worried that I'll have too much restriction and then get home and have to find someone closer to unfill. What do you think? Diana
  4. Dana! I was in your shoes 9 days ago now and the whole thing has been a good experience so far. I think our whole group that got banded on oct2 stayed the night at the hospital. i thought it was a good idea and rested up. i hope you have a good day and i wish you the best for tomorrow! don't worry, it will go smoothly. don't forget to just have the chicken broth from the restaurant when you rturn to the hotel and don't forget not to drink at consume your soup at the same time...it's too much and not allowed according to dr miranda. best wishes! october2 aka diana
  5. i didn't realize paypal's bank acct verification can take up to 5 days to verify. i basically have been waiting for my bank to receive the paypal deposits, paypal makes so that they can verify it's my acct when i call my account and ask for those two deposits and then i am able to send payment to occ. the problem is i fly out early wednesday and have surgery scheduled for oct 1st. QUESTION: HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH THIS SAME EXPERIENCE?? I WANT TO PAY WITH MY CREDIT CARD BUT CAN'T SOLELY BECAUSE I'M WAITING FOR PAYPAL'S PROCESS. QUESTION: HAS ANYONE GONE TO THEIR SURGICAL APPT AND BEEN ABLE TO PAY WHILE THEY WERE THERE?? OR PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD VIA SOME OTHER WAY THAT'S NOT PAYPAL?? i called my pt coordinator, Lori, and tried getting a hold of Melissa but i don't have Melissa's extension. anyone??!!? thankyou.

  7. hey susan, long time no talk, haha. it's good to hear from you thanks for the kick in the butt, haha! i AM focused woman just got a wittle scared. everytime i was looking to chat i couldn't find anyone online...haha. then i saw these utube videos/pics not dr ortiz or the occ lapband pts vidoes and the scars looked really bad. i have plenty of scars but my tummy is scar free. anyway, enough with the boo hoo -ing, haha. it's not my style. besides scars dimish over time so i'm done...for now. as far as family goes, i worry but they will do fine without me. and just for the record...i DO want to get into a Bikini so don't you go crossing that one out just yet, missy. you never know, you might just change your mind. thanks buddy. you stay focused too. ta ta for now. ps. i feel better
  8. hey veterans. i'm feeling apprehensive today. i'm hoping the surgery will go well and that i won't have complications. i'm also wondering about the scars. i was looking at some utube videos/pics and realized some ppl have multiple/5 scars. i'm no stranger to scars and scars haven't been too much of a concern in the past but i just didn't realize i will potentially have 5 scars and not all small needle puncture size scars. i know worrying about scars is shallow yet i don't like the idea of having a straight line across my midsection. my surgery is coming right up and i'm wondering how hard will it be to just have juice/water for a week or are we allowed clear broths? does dr ortiz make 5 or so scars too? do the scars heal/fade pretty well?? i just feel really nervous today because i'll be flying out oct 1 and leaving family behind. i'm worried about the outcome and how i'm going to feel. i'm scared, i'll have a complication and i'll be far from dr ortiz. hope to hear from any of you. thankyoumuch. okbye.
  9. Topic--Non Scale Victories i've only been on my pre-op diet for a week so not much difference other than i feel in control of my food intake which is GREAT. the NSV i will be sooo happy to achieve are (for now, just two) - when my pants don't bunch below my waist or fall off my butt because of my fat rolls pushing them down - when i can buy a pair of boots that will actually fit over my calves. i have been only able to wear ankle boots because i just can't find any boots that will ever zip up my legs -when i actually am able to throw or give away every garment that i currently owe (i don't own a whole lot because i only shop when i absolutely have to) i'll be :D when i acheive these. i'm excited that it's in my nearer future.
  10. since dr O was the one that mentioned it, i'd call and ask to speak to him and get his medical advise as to whether or not you should see a local doctor or not. i wouldn't ignore it since you are thinking about it you might as well get some medical advice from dr O. my two cents
  11. Hi TheDon. your pre-op diet consists of milk and coffee only?? that sounds really severe. did a nutritionist or doctor tell you to follow that diet?? are you getting your surgery done at dr ortiz' med center? i'm having my surgery oct2. hang in there and post on here as often as you like. ttyl hopefully.
  12. at first paypal wouldn't work for me because i googled paypal and was trying to make the payment. i later looked at the email that lori, my pt. coordinator, sent me and she had given me a paypal link. when i clicked the link she gave me (it was specific to dr ortiz' account) it worked fine. hope that helps.
  13. hi. did you buy b12 on it's own? in addition to your multivitamin (mine has b12 already)
  14. hello. it's good to read about your progress and your support to others on here. you were the first to talk to me a couple weeks ago when i was asking about the procedure. i forgot my login name so i had to make a new one. i'm very happy to announce that i went ahead and called dr ortiz' office and made the decision to go ahead with the surgery. i'm scheduled for october 2! i started my pre-op diet today. so far so good, ahhaha. one shake down, countless to go. i'm really happy and upbeat right now. i know when i come down from the excitement, there will be tough times but i have to stay focused and want to thank you and everyone else that provided info and support. i look forward to chatting with you and others while we're on this path of self improvement. yay! haha thanks =D>
  15. hello, just have to say your two pics (before/current) look great and are inspiring. i'm new to this forum. will have my surgery oct 2nd!. i'm off to buy my vitamins, shakes, and lean cuisine meals for my option 2 pre-op diet dr miranda put me on. congrats on your success! october2
