  1. I was banded 2 years ago this month. I had my 4th fill this past Monday. I can eat solid food but my problem comes at night when I go to bed. I have burping and influx that makes me get up to throw up. I have never had these symptoms before. The worst part is I was up all last night coughing. I tried sleeping in a recliner so that I was propped up but I still coughed and this morning my throat is sore. I can get my coffee down this morning and the coughing stopped. Help please as I need some sleep !!
  2. GO JANN !!! no harm in looking but it's especailly nice to be checked out.
  3. You are truly an inspiration. You go girl !!!
  4. I am now 8 days post surgery and have not lost any weight. I started soup stage yesterday because of an outing and lunch at a resturant. Have stuck to creamy soups, liquid yorgurt and water, not much juice but now I have gained a lb. Have done plenty of walking but I am in the house 2 times a week watching my new grandbaby and by the time she leaves it's already to dark to walk. I live about 45 miles from the nearest gym so that's not an option. Should I be lossing weight....I noticed others have in this liquid phase.
  5. Again I am here asking advice....such a newbie ! I was banded 6 days again and so far I have only lost 1 lb. Is this right ? When will I see and substancial weight lose ? Also I have read that if you are not taking in enough calories you won't lose, is that right ? Thanks in advance for your support.
  6. Thanks for the info. I have heard of Dr. Kelly and have family in Hood River so this would be an easy trip for me. Thanks again.
  7. I am again seeking help. Since my fill is due around the holidays I would like to have my fill done near my area. Has anyone heard about Dr. Kelly in Portland or a doctor who does fills in the Lewiston ID area ? Also how important is the flourascope. I see many patients do not have one. Those of you who have had it "done blind" I would like to hear about you experience. Thanks
  8. I am contemplating going back to TJ for fill but since the 6-8 weeks is during the holidays (family is coming in) I am hestitating making the trip. My confusion is due to a conversation I had with Dr. Ortiz. We have a firend who was banded 8/2007 and has had 5 fills. Dr. Ortiz says that men usually only need 1 maybe 2 fills. I don't want to have fills or unfills that I don't need but on the other hand I also don't want to travel to TJ if I don't have to. I have heard of 2 great doctors in my somewhat near area and would rather go that way if possible. What do you think ? I was banded on 10/29 and doing pretty good but am confused about the fill issue.
  9. Thanks for your advice. I notice on other posts how supportive you are to others. I appreciate that as I'm sure others do as well.
  10. Hi ! I need some advice from all you bandsters. I am having surgery Oct. 29 and still have to lose 4 lbs. I have lost 7 but these last 4 are a bugger. Will Dr. Ortiz not do the surgery if I have not lost all my preop weight ? Any help would be appreciated.
  11. Am scheduled for sugery 10/29. Would like to know if there is someone in the Spokane area that does fills ?
  12. My surgery is scheduled for Oct. 29 th and I have been reading the forum and came across the recommendation of taking papaya enzymes. What are they and what do they do. Needless to say I am concerned about this complete life altering change (but an ready for it). Concerned that PB and sliming will get in the way of normal life. Any suggestions or support would be nice.
