  1. Went and saw my doc today and he's been amazed that I'm still averaging 3-4 lbs loss every month. Asked what I wanted to get to and told him 145. He kind of raised his eyebrows and said I'd be really really skinny (like that's a bad thing...lol). So I asked him what he thought and he said another 5 lbs because then I'd be at 23% body fat. But he doesn't want to see me again til March so we'll see how much I've lost. I suspect it'll be more than 5 lbs...lol. But it does appear I'm almost done...I can't believe it!
  2. Went and saw my doctor for a checkup since I had my gall bladder out and mentioned I was experiencing heartburn. He said it may be time for an unfill. Really?!!! I've been at this fill for like 6 months and now all of a sudden heartburn. Anyone else ever had this problem?
  3. I will be flying to Waukesha,Wi the sunday following Thanksgiving. I'll be there for 2 weeks. Anyone wanting to get together for dinner please let me know. I've never had a chance to have a face to face conversation with someone who also has a lap band and would love comparing experiences.
  4. I just had my gall bladder out about 10 days ago. I vomited from pain but nothing came up. When I went to the doctor the first thing they asked was where was the pain, and from that they knew it was my gall bladder. I experienced pain beginning in the pit of my stomach and radiating around the right side to my back. I was diagnosed with gall bladder disease which means it was swollen and infected and full or stones. Hope you feel better.
  5. I had my gallbladder out last week. I was given a liquid pain killer afterwards and a painkiller that I breathed through my nose. The band felt a big loose, actually, for several days after and I got worried that maybe something got nicked. But eventually everything tightened back up. Good luck with your surgery and recovery!
  6. I was in the Navy for 20 years and spent the last 8 trying to reach the unreachable weight of 167 and now I seem to be only 1 pound away. I never ever thought I would get this close.
  7. Got the gall bladder removed last night. At least after this surgery I can eat normally. lol. And the recovery seems to be a lot easier.
  8. I've always been able to keep liquids down after a fill. I don't think this is normal. Keep us updated!
  9. And for all these years we've thought any salad was 'healthy'! Crazy!!!
  10. I'm having my gall bladder removed tomorrow. A friend was telling me it went bad because of the rapid weight loss. That my gall bladder went into overdrive to process all the fat that was metabolizing and that's what made it go bad. Has anyone ever heard of that?
  11. Got good liquid painkiller. Ready for the next time. lol
  12. Looks like I might have a bad gall bladder. Saw my surgeon today and he ordered an ultrasound to see if I had gall stones. He said if I do he'll remove my gall bladder.
  13. I've been banded about 11 months now and have had this problem 2x. I ate a small piece of pizza for dinner tonight. Had no problems. About an hour later felt like I needed to throw up. And I mean really throw up. Only thing that came up was air. Since then I've had a horrible knot in my stomach and throw up ever half hour or so, but only throw up air. Anyone had anything like this b4?
  14. No, nothing like that. Kind of burns going down and after about 1/2 glass stomach starts spasming and i throw up air. It's really crazy.
  15. I usually drink 1 glass of wine in the evenings. Lately I can't seem to. I'll usually throw it up. I'm never drunk so it's not because I'm nauseous. Anyone else ever experience a problem?
  16. I have been vomiting all night. I am now in a lot of pain. Is it normal from the stomach not being used to being sick? Or could I have done something to the band.
  17. But let me ask you all!!! Right now I'm out of town for 2 weeks WITHOUT MY SCALE!!! When do I become more normal and not need to weigh all the time?!!!
  18. I finally ran out of clothes I had grown out of. Had no choice but to buy new!
  19. I've lost 58 pounds but haven't really been able to tell in the mirror, just on the scale. Finally bought some new clothes and put on a new outfit and looked in the mirror. I finally saw it. I never thought I'd look like that again. I can't even imagine what another 50 pounds will do. Incredible.
  20. Every time I get filled I find I have to learn to how to eat again. This time the problem is I'm away from home and it's hard to find a restaurant that cooks something somewhat decently that I can keep down. But, yes, I do think I have irritated things. How long on a liquid only diet and should I rely on protein shakes?
  21. I got my last fill about 10 days ago and have been extremely tight. Still trying to get used to eating when it's this tight and have been messing up frequently. Now because i'm hotel bound I have to eat out and not much wants to stay down. But I managed to keep lunch down yesterday and today. I've been feeling light headed today. Could it be I'm not getting enough to eat?
  22. I have been stuck at 205 for several weeks. Went in and saw my Doc, he filled me again. So now 7.5cc in 10cc band. Yea, now I'm restricted and lost 4.6 pounds this week. I'm still trying for under 200 as well. Good luck everyone!!!
  23. Has anyone ever experienced excruciating back pain when something hurts going down.
  24. My doc asked me about the restriction I felt before he did the fill because he said he put 4.5 cc in there during the surgery. I asked him what size the band was and he said there were only 2 sizes standard and large and that mine was standard. I've been unable to find out how big a standard band is. As of today I can eat as long as I take it very slowly. But because of all the posts I've read here about being able to eat bread I suspect it's not filled enough because I can eat bread just fine.
  25. Ok, got my first fill Monday. Doc put in 1.5 cc but told me there was already 4.5 in there. I throw up pretty frequently now so I do know it's filled. I don't drink anything before or during my meal. I wait for about 1 hour after the meal before I have something to drink. My problem is I can feel the liquid push things through the band. Does that mean it's not tight enough?
