  1. So what did you find out?? Had it slipped or not??? Candy
  2. Hi, I had my lap band placed June 2007, got pregnant September 2007. Had a very healthy baby girl with no complications in May 2008! Not only was she very healthy I only gained 9 lbs during entire pregnancy. It actually was the best pregnancy I have had and she was number 4. I also delivered her by C-section. I have done it that way with all of mine. Everything will be great!!! Congrats!!! Candy
  3. Went to the doc today. He was not in so I seen one of his partners. He agreed that it was pretty weird that this has happened twice and since I had the baby so he ordered an upper GI and took 0.6 mL out of the band. I asked that he not take the whole 1 mL so I would still have some restriction. I can now eat!!!! I seem to bet much, much better. We will know for sure when I have the upper GI. Thanks for all the support.
  4. Thanks for you help. I have spoke to my Doc and he wants me to come back in tomorrow, but I am wondering if I should ask for an upper GI series to know if this is going to keep happening every time I get this full. This is the second time. Last time I could not eat or drink anything, I am glad it is not that bad this time!
  5. Okay, i have been banded since June of 2007, but got pregnant and had a baby. So we started all over in September refilling my band. I had a fill last wednesday and everything seemed great until thruday night. I ate part of a baked potato with diced chicken. I had about 3 ounces, but was so full then about 2 hours later I was still full and hurting at this point so I went and threw up. I got it all up (I think). Well then that night I could feel things coming back up into my throat and felt as if my chest was full. Anyway, I was unable to eat any food friday. I could get small sips down of water and slimfast, but that was it. On saturday still nothing solid. Sunday (today) I had slim fast for breakfast, blended chicken noodle soup (4oz) and then slim fast shake for snack. I got all of it down without too much pain, but having horrible heartburn and still every night having issues with stuff coming up into my throat. Do I just have some taken out or do I ask for upper GI to see if my band has slipped. Oh I have not lost anything since we begin refilling band in September. I am so discouraged. I lost 48 lbs the first 4 months until I got pregnant. Any advice is appreciated.
  6. I have been banded since 07 and after my last 2 fills I have had a pain in my upper back or right below my left shoulder blade. I was reading this and saw that it was not just me. I am thinking it gets worse when I get hungry. That is really weird to me! I have been a little worried that something was wrong with my band. Does anyone else have this issue?
  7. You look Great!! I cannot wait to be in the 160's!!! Way to go!

  8. Thank you for the encouragement! I am glad I am not the only one who this has happened to. I agree with the fact babies make your body hold fat. This was #4 for us so I have been holding onto some fat for a long time...lol! No, really thank you all for all of your kind words and encouragement.
  9. Thank you both, she is very precious! I will keep trying, just a little frustrated. I have never had the fluroscopy done, but I have had a total of 6 fills and if I have had any problems I do not know about them yet.
  10. No, my surgeon just asks us to take a drink of water and we tell him if it goes down okay of if it gurgles in our throat! I wish we did do the fluroscopy! I would love to see what the difference would be.
  11. Thank you very much for your post!! I really needed that encouragement! Candy
  12. It is nice to meet you! I am new here also. Congratulations on your band and weightloss to this point!!!
  13. Hi, This is my first time on a discussion board so I really not sure how to do this. I guess I should start by telling everyone a little bit about myself and why I am here. Well, I have had my band since June of 2007. I started at 249lbs and by October 10th I had lost to 201lbs. I was so excited. Then I found out I was pregnant and had to have the saline taken out of my band, I was so sad I had to quit loosing the weight just when I had such great momentium! Anyway, I had a healthy, very precious baby girl and in July I went back for my first fill. It was 2 cc and I had little if any restriction. So I went back in September and had my second fill, which took me to 5 cc. After 2 days with it in I started throwing up even my own spit!! It was horrible. I could not breathe without it hurting and I met my Doc at his office on a saturday afternoon to have it loosened. He took it all out because I have been throwing up for 18 hours. So I let my stomach heal for 3 weeks and then I went back for a fill. He gave me between 3-5 cc (unsure because he did not get the port the first time and some of the saline with unto my muscle). So now I feel as if I have no restriction and can eat anything I want as long as I do not eat real fast! Oh, during pregnancy I only gained 10 lbs. So I started the fill process in July at 211 lbs, but now I am up to 214 lbs. I am so frusterated and scared that I will never get back to losing weight!!! I do have an appointment for my next fill this thursday! Thanks for any input or suggestions. Candy
