  1. thanks for all the feedback everyone. They were very informative. I've been drinking protein drinks most mornings because my band doesn't like most solids in the morning. I'm looking forward to trying the veg life brand soon. I like some of their other products I've tried in the past. Best wishes everybody.
  2. hi, I think it is as long as your on the full liquids stage now and no actual cone. Only the yogurt. I had non fat sugar free yogurt after my first fill and did just fine. Good luck.
  3. I was wondering who still drinks protein shakes post liquid diet. I know we're not suppost to take in liquid calories after we've reached the solid stage. I also wanted to know for what reasons? Is it to get all your calories in? Is it for muscle repair after workouts? Im on a 3 day liquid diet after my first fill and looking at my options. Thanks
  4. Hi Everyone, So I'm starting to notice that food and liquids go hand and hand and I kind of miss it. I miss breakfast with coffee or dinner with a glass a wine. Or sometimes you eat salty foods and really need a drink to wash of down. Plus, sucking on ice doesn't work for me. How do you guys deal with this? Is it even an issue for anyone else? Thanks everybody.
  5. Wow Thanks for all the responses and tips. It really helps knowing that others are going through the same thing or have been there before. Since my initial post the scale has only budged a bit but I did get my first compliment. That made up for some of the scale disappointment. I'm also going to start measuring like previously mentioned. Sounds like I might find some motivation in that. In the mean time, I've continued walking daily and taking fiber supplements to avoid gettting too hungry. Good luck to everybody currently in bandster hell. Remember its only temporary. Erica
  6. Hi everyone, I've been on solids for the about a week now. I haven't lost anything this last week. I was doing really good on liquids. It's all just come to a sudden halt. I'm walking miles everyday and making sure I'm not taking in too many calories. What can I do to jumpstart the weight loss again? Anyone else have the same dilema? Thanks Erica
  7. hey guys, Well I'm not sure if ate too much or I'm just not able to drink dairy anymore after surgery. I'm on day three of solid foods and yesterday I had my mom's Mexican hot chocolate made with milk. Almost right away my stomach started to hurt. It was probably an hour after dinner and I didn't think I had eaten that much Christmas dinner. I didn't have much dairy during my liquid phase because I don't really like yogurt. Did anyone else have problems with dairy after surgery? I know some have had issues with certain meats and breads. I'd really appreciate any feedback. Erica
  8. hi valley girl, I think we were banded around the same time. I had surgery on the 3rd of December. I'm on facebook and will add you. My pic is years old. I do keep the band private except for a few close family members . Hope to talk soon. Erica
  9. hello, I read in dr. Ortiz's book that some few people do not end up needing any fills. It doesn't sound that common. I'm almost three weeks in and plan to have my first fill three to four weeks from now. Hope that helps.
  10. hi, My name is Erica and I was banded on dec. 3rd too. I live in the east bay right now. I use to live in s.f and hope to move back soon. Congratulations on your nearing surgery date. Best of luck. Erica
  11. No your not crazy. I know exactly where your coming from. I loved diet pepsi. And I have free access to all the diet pepsi I want at work. The other day I accidently grabbed one and took it back to my work station out of habit. Luckly I remember I could have it before I drank it. As far as caffeine goes... Have you tried chi tea? It works for mornings. Just beware of the overly sugary mixes. Whenever I get a craving I just think about all the hard work I've been putting into protecting my band from slipping. That helps me stay away from my favorite carbonated drink. Goodluck.
  12. Thanks for all the tips. I started using anti-itch cream around the skin yesterday and it's really helped. Plus, I started using maderma on the incisions today. Take care everybody.
  13. Hi I had my surgery done about two and half weeks ago. I was wondering if the area around anyone's incisions were irratated? I think the glue used during the surgery may have irratated the skin just around the incisions. It's a little itchy. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks everyone.
