  1. It seems unwise to me to risk bringing the flu back to school. I have students with compromised immune systems. I trust the OCC implicitly, but I don't trust Southwest, or my fellow passengers. The last flight I was on someone turned and coughed in my face. (Without the class to apologize ) In addition to the flu issue I am awaiting the results from a biopsy. I was hoping to get the results before I left, as I wouldn't get a fill if chemo is in my future, but between biopsy, flu, and the thought of bringing something back to my students I think I'm just being stubborn if I insist on going down right now. :lb12:
  2. Aargh. I've been planning for a fill on Thursday. I'm thinking I should reschedule.
  3. I'm here, I'm sleepy, and someone lassoed my stomach while I wasn't looking. I don't think that thing will be leading stampedes to buffet anymore Everything went well, we are staying at the Merriott, (nice room!) and everyone here is nicer and more considerate than some some of Santa's helpers I could name (Blizen bites) I see I capable of being my usual idiot, so I must be fine. Chat later, sleep now, Tibbie
  4. Been there, Done that, Got the funny yellow tummy they give instead of a T-shirt! I'm doing just fine, a little sore, a little wobbly, but feeling fine. & Yeah, the Dr.'s ARE CUTE. You gals weren't stretching the truth a bit. I'm sleepy and leaning sideways now, so I may take a nap. Later ladies! :-h Tibbie
  5. You look fantastic. Congratulations on your success=D>
  6. I sure will! I can't wait to start seeing the results. It's silly, but I'm sort of looking forward to baffling all the people I work with Tibbie
  7. I look forward to meeting you all there! :-h
  8. Thanks! & thanks for the encouragement. I'm excited, and I hope I can follow your example. I did change our tickets to Sunday, but I still plan to go back to work on Monday.
  9. I fly out tomorrow & get banded on Friday. Too excited to function! I wanted to thank everyone who's posted their bits of wisdom and experience here. I have my powdered broth, GasX strips, & lip balm. I'm packing lightly and bringing plenty of $1's & 5's for tipping. I know what to expect and what to bring thanks to you people. I've ghosted on this site more than once & any anxiety I've had about surgery in Mexico you all have removed. Thanks for being so generous with your collective experiences. =D> Tibbie
  10. Not exactly on topic, but, Fiber One Bars may be your primary contributor to the gas issue. I was using them earlier this year & barely made out my classroom door several times. I just went back to Fiber One cereal & have no problems with that now. Of course I am not banded yet, but I'm definately skipping the Fiber One Bars after my banding. They taste good, but I don't need to be jet-propelled.
  11. Hi! Sadly I leave on the 14th. I was trying to give myself a full day of rest before I go back to work >whip-crack heard in the distance< But I'm beginning to think I'm an idiot & should have just taken Monday off too.
  12. My surgery date is 3-13! I am excited & a little scared. I'm on the liquid & salads. I'm a bit hungry >gnaws on arm< I think my husband & I are staying at the Lucerna.
