I love my family; my husband Eli and 2 girls, Talia 4 and Hannalei almost 2. I love my job/passion, working at non profit drop in centre - it's a privilege to be able to be involved in people's lives. <br /> I love animals, esspecially my 2 cats, though I dream of having a huge NewFoundland dog one day. I love most things creative, travel and stories of all kinds...books, movies, people own memories.

  1. How awful. I got a personal message that said please help. Terrible

  2. When I tried calling most places wanted 4,000 for the whole post op package. The CIBO clinic in Toronto agreed to do fills for me for 140 Canadian a pop. I still haven't had my first fill and i am debating whether to go to CIBO or make the EXPENSIVE trip back to the OCC at least for my first fill to make sure all is well. GOOD L CIBO clinic in Toronto agreed to do fills for me at 140 Canadian a fill. The other places all insisted that I join the whole post op plan for 4,000 to 5,000 bucks. I'm debating whether or not to return to the OCC for my first fill so they can have a good look at me and see how everything is going. My experience at the OCC was incredible...I can't say enough about the care I received and the facilities were top notch. I'm glad I went there for my surgery - I feel I had better care there than I would have had locally. Good luck to you.
  3. Hey FatFreeme I just found the topic !!! It has been so great to keep in contact. It's been one and a half weeks eh!!! I don't really see the other girls on here, just you me and Fabi. It's too bad because this would eliminate doing seperate emails. I'm attempting to make my own potatoe soup today...I've had enough of the storebought!!!! I never knew there was such a lack of places that do soups from scratch in my city!! I do a lot of cooking but I've never done soups before...my kitchen has become a lab!!! I had a terrrrrrrible day yesterday for eating too many calories. I think my appateite is kicking back in....I'm going to have to reign in the servings!!! Hope you are doing well today. Krista
  4. Congratrulations!! It wasn't me. I leave on Monday for surgery on Tues. How did everything go for you? Was it hard to fly home so soon after? Do you have any last minute advice...something you wish you had known or done or brought? I'm excited and nervous...mostly just wishing the time would go faster...
  5. Just looking thru here and saw that you have your surgery tomorow...good luck!!!
  6. Look forward to meeting you too. I'll be staying at the Marriot - ya, no one gave me a choice either. lol. Very excited but it's all a bit surreal. !
  7. Thank you both for taking the time to write. It's so good to hear from real people who have been. Krista
  8. Hi JudiM! My name is Krista and I will be flying in with my husband Eli on the 16th too. I am flying into L.A because my brother in law booked me on points. I'm driving a rental car from L.A to San Diego airport by late afternoon. I don't know what hotel i'm booked in...I still have so many questions to ask. It will be nice to meet you!
  9. Hi Fabi! My name is Krista and I will be flying in on the 16th late afternoon and I'm getting my band on the 17th! I will be with my husband Eli. I look forward to meeting you. I'm 35, from Toronto Candad and I have 2 girls, 4 and almost 2. I still haven't started my pre op diet...I keep stalling. It's so hard to cook for kids and supervise them so that the food actually gets into them, while not eating!!! I'd like to do at least 2 weeks of just protien shakes and salads...but we'll see. How are you doing?
  10. Hi I'm new to the forum...new to all of this actually. My name is Krista and I'm 35, a mother of a 2 year old and 4 year old girls, from Toronto Canada. I am booked for surgery for March 17 09, and I am very excited to be taking this step, and feel very good about doing this at The Obesity Control Center itself. I am travelling on my brother in law's points so I'm flying into L.A and driving a rental car to San Diego to be picked up. Now I am hearing frightening things about travelling to boarder towns, with Tijuana listed ...that there is huge unrest due to gang wars. I've never thought twice about travelling to Mexico before....i've gotten spooked, and I'm hoping to hear from people who have just RECENTLY been. What was your experience crossing the boarder and being in Tijuana like?
