  1. Hey- I'd get checked out if I were you- it sounds like it just may be band-slippage- even tho you're not vomiting.......
  2. When you take a small plastic cup around with you in your handbag just in case a PB happens in a restaurant/friends house/insert-own-nightmare-venue. (Its amazing how discreet you can be into one of those things.....)
  3. they make my tummy hurt- is this because the heat is irritating the band? Just wondered if anyone else has had to stop drinking coffee etc? it really sucks, cos herbal teas were the only thing getting me through the evening munchies, and I finally figured out that they were the reason why I was feeling a bit sore. (just sipping) Is this a normal thing?
  4. Fills are not meant to be like that!! They should be almost pain-free, and certainly not a 'fishing expedition"! Maybe your port has moved/come away? Its all I can think of. Your xray one will reveal all- and I guarantee it will be nowhere near as traumatic. For me: a Little burning prickle then its over. Nothing to freak about. Here's hoping your next is like that.
  5. You guys are awesome. I appreciate this forum so much.
  6. Thank you all so much for your inspirational replies! I had my first fill today (didn't hurt at all! A little sting and then it was over! amazing I was so worried over nothing and now I am looking forward to the reality of the journey- getting good quality nutrition and looking after my band so that it looks after me! That way I can see it all working- and I no longer have expectations of pace- thanks so much you guys- there's heaps of love on this forum. God Bless!
  7. Dawns and Carrie Thank you so much. I will print out your replies and put them in my personal book I made to keep me motivated. You spent time and energy on writing to me and I'm very grateful- I feel much much better. Love benjigirl
  8. hey there. I know many of you are seasoned bandsters- so I'm hoping for some help/hope I had no idea how much of an emotional/habitual/comfort eater I was until I got banded. This has really hit me hard since the op, as now I just don't know what to do with myself, and I feel loss and sometimes even anger that I can't eat like I used to. How ungrateful of me! It doesn't help that I am yet to have my first fill so have stalled in my weight loss for the last month. I am wandering around the house feeling grumpy and I also have an (irrational?) fear that I will never lose weight like you all. that the band will not work for me - I know all the 'rules' and am careful not to cheat the band, but-still can't believe I will ever, ever be thin. Sorry to be a sad-sack, I probably just need a good slap!! Anyone else have these issues ? How did you overcome?
  9. Man, its only 8 weeks at best- I was banded on june 26th, and the recovery weeks have been tough actually. First week exhausted and very sore, second week exhausted and sore, third week, tired and still very meekly entering into slow walking. They say no strenuous activity for 6 weeks, so if you think the two weeks prior to the 3 day are enough for you to get up to scratch, then I suppose....but I reckon you're trying to pull-off a full-fitness type activity when you'll only just be getting back to normal. I personally would pass. But you're the only one that knows you! Get your surgeons advice big time.
  10. Good advice guys. I didn't know this was so common- I feel a bit stupid now Clynn I will do as you say- healing comes first. (then hopefully I can realistically get down by 2 pounds a week- thats one kilo so its still ok with me.)
  11. How can this be? I am eating so little! Should I go back on optifast? My goal is to lost 37 kilos by Christmas, so I've got to average 1.8 kilos per week (thats almost 3 pounds) to reach my goal. I'm already behind and can't figure out what the heck has gone wrong
  12. Hey Girl- that post was absolutely awesome- it taught me heaps and was really honest. I needed to hear all those things. I wish there were more posts like this on the forum. God Bless Benjigirl
  13. some great advice here guys- I am at week 3 and am feeling the same. The benefibre advice was BRILLIANT. I think it will save me. Thanks Shelby.!
  14. Thanks you guys- I feel sorta comforted- it seems I won't know for a while, and thats ok. I've lost 14 kilos already! (about 30 pounds) so how can I complain about ANYTHING????
  15. Oh how i hate my CPAP. Has anyone been able to lose so much weight that no machine was necessary anymore? give me a vision of hope!
