  1. I am California born and raised but since Los Angeles is the melting pot of the world I have had many conversations with people on this subject. Europians have told me that everything in America is sweetened to American tastes, even the sweets like candy and cake. I noticed that if I go to a Europian bakery or Latin Bakery that this is true. I also noticed this is true with our version of hot chocolate. I know cigarette companies will change the flavor & tabacco blend for each type of cigarette depending on the country it is being sold in and I am wondering if food companies that sell internationally do the same thing?
  2. Recent complement that made me LMAO..."Your so pretty, have you ever thought about getting your boobs done?"

and from experience DON'T get your boobs done....it's a real pain in the ass to have to get the redone since they don't last forever. If anything I'd say get a lift (if you need it) but the implants thing is so fricking over rated. I wish I had never gotten mine.

  3. I did not buy smaller clothes before the band but I like Lisa's comment about having a goal dress. Unfortunately I have spent a lot of money on dresses from mybabyjo retro inspired clothing and now have to pay more money to get them all taken in Another problem I ran into was that there was a few items already in my closet that I was waiting to fit back into and only got a chance to wear them once or twice before they also became too big.
  4. 4 fills done all at OCC. I have 8cc in 11cc band and feel restriction finally. However, that level of restriction flucuates from day to day and sometimes meal to meal.

  7. I am doing okay. I have not lost anything in the last week due to TOM and MAJOR water retention. I am okay with it though and I am just being patient and waiting it out. I am already at ideal restriction so I cant go back for another fill any time soon. I know I need to drink more water. Good luck on your 3rd fill.

  8. LMAO!!! Never thought of it that way, but it does ROCk doesnt it?!?!?

  9. You probably knocked off between 150 - 200 calories Great job!!!

  15. Hi everyone!!! Would you like a freeware WW Points Calculator app for your cell phone??? Below is a link to the one I downlaoded to my phone and use every day (comes in handy when you are at the supermarket!). It is a stand-alone app that does not require an internet/data connection and it is absolutely free forever, not a trial version. Just click on the link below and scroll down untill you see the downloads for "Calorie Factor" on the left side of the site. Let me know what you think! Calorie Factor Post Script - I know that the app is compatable with Palm OS devices, not sure if it is compatable w/ other or which ones. Below is a link for an iPhone Points calculator ... the app is 99 cents to download: PointCounts Another one for iPhone is: WW Points Calculator

  17. You are not rushing and should NOT feel guilty about going back for another fill after 3 weeks. It is your body and you should be the one to decide what is best for you. If you have no restriction then you need another fill, period. This is YOUR investment - not anyone elses.

  18. It will help yot in order for it to help you will still have to commit to a healthy lifestyle change with diet and excercise. The band will help with portion control but you will have to do the rest.
  19. No, actually I got it from www.lapbandtalk.com, from the WW group.

  20. I second that, I only got that feeling 3 nights ago at a bar when I was having a beer (this was a dive that did not serve anything but beer). I got it so bad I only drank half the beer and was in so much freaking pain due to trapped gas. I have had 4 fills though. I wanted to burp sooo bad and for the first time I couldnt!!! I have had 4 fills though and I am at 8cc restriction.
  21. I drank it. I had the tomato & tamato parmesan. The rule of thumb I went by was if I could drink it without chewing I could have it. Especially if I could drink it with a straw in theory.

  22. Thanks for the props!! I am enjoying the 50s like you wouldnt believe! way too many keylime pie martinis and a lot of compliments (even if they are from men at bars...did I just say that?!?!) The size 12s are getting a bit baggy on me. Can't wait for the size 10s!!! You will be here with me soon enough. Once you have restiction there is no going back!

  23. Yep, yep, yep!!! Work those abs! I still do not do ab work perse but there are a lot of excercises that work your "core" without having to rely on crunches or sit-ups. Do yoga and/or pilates to target your abs without the impact of crunches or sit-ups.

  24. I lost a total of 8 pounds during the liquids phase and I was doing weight watchers, consuming a total of about 800 - 900 calories a day on average. My starting BMI was 33. I am a slow looser and I have to learn to be okay with that. MJ is right, you need to keep track of how many calories you are consuming in a day. If you do not want to do the WW thing, another WONDERFUL site for tracking is The Daily Plate. It is FREE to sign up/use and it stores your data. The database of foods is actually 200 times better then WW database and although I am a WW member I still use the daily plate to cross reference my data I put into WW. What is also great about the site is that it is set up to automatically track your daily allowance of fat, sodium, sugar, protein, & carbs along with calories and charts that out for you. WW techs could sooooo learn a thing or two when it comes to this site.
