  1. The Couch-to-5K ® Running Plan http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml I wanted share this great plan I started doing. When I started running I couldn't even run for a minute. I would get on the treadmill and just do what I could but never really improve. Then I started doing this plan that starts slowly bumping you up to run better and better, like taking baby steps. I can run for over 3 minutes now continuously. I am just so excited about it that I had to share with the banditas. It has taken me about 2 weeks for every week on the plan to actually compelte the runs, but I am for the first time making progress in my running ever. http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/page4/files/category-7.html If you are interested, there is also this site where you can download the podcasts to tell you when to start running and when to stop. -June
  2. If I can eat more than 1/2 to 2/3 of what I ate before surgery, then I get a fill.
  3. 9.5 cc in an 11cc band. they told me at OCC that most people with the 11cc band will hit the sweet spot below 8.5cc
  4. I think it is normal to not to have restriction after your first fill. I just got my 2nd fill and there was a huge difference. I had only lost and kept off 5 pounds from surgery and I started with a low BMI, too. I wouldn't give up yet - you still need to adjust the band to fit you before it starts working. Schedule your 2nd fill.
  5. 2nd fill 8.5 ccs and restriction!

  6. 6cc at the OCC. My husband got 4.5cc. I am going to go back for another fill.
  7. I have done a piece of toast (double fiber) with peanut butter. Pretty yummy and easy to take on the road.
  8. I asked my fill doctor the same thing. He said if you slipped you would know it. You would be in great pain and not able to get things down. He said "slipping" isn't realy a good way to think of it, instead it is more of a pinching off. He said many people worry needlessly.
  9. I live in North County San Diego and I go to the OCC, too. I went last Saturday and I would say it took about four hours to get over the border, get my fill and back. I'm sure it would be even faster mid-week.
  10. What time frame are we talking about? How long did it take you to reduce the scarring with Vitamin E oil? How long did you use Merderma? How long should you try something before you know it is working or not?
  11. I think we aren't supposed to use straws in the beginning though - you might suck in air. You should double check.
  12. I took before and after shots, too. It really helps you appreciate how much you have lost! Great job.
  13. I wore comfy clothes there, only to have to take them off and put on the gown for the surgery. So it doesn't matter what you wear there. I would bring the comfy clothes for when you change to go home. Also, they told me I could have tiny pills and gel caps were okay. If the pill was too big, they said to just chop it in half and everything would be fine.
  14. Dr. Miranda said we could have coffee even right after surgery. Just to use non-dairy creamer.
  15. Did he have his little dump truck out? So funny!
  16. Hilarious. I couldn't beleive they wanted my husband to wear one. I laughed so hard! They were definately made for a woman but not strong enough for a man.
  17. Totally addicted. If I didn't have soda one day I would get a migrain that lasted 3 days and I would feel like throwing up!! Since I got the band I have been doing coffee just to get my caffeine in. I don't ever want to go back to soda again.
  18. I'm going to take some Nyquil as soon as I get home from work then.
  19. I am on Day 9 post op and I'm getting sick. Runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat. Is this going to be a problem for my healing band? Is there anything I can do to make it better? Has this happened to anyone else?
  20. Love the picture. That is super helpfull.
  21. So Cool. I think guys do better. My husband has been banded a week and lost 10 pounds. He will be so happy to hear about how you are doing!
