  1. I'm sorry I don't have the answer to this except to say Dr. So told me last week that they do perform that surgery there. I don't know the cost. But what I really wanted to say was.. CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss!!!! and.. WOOHOO on your curves!!!!!!
  2. 189.8. Very disappointing considering I've had e coli since Monday! Ambulance had to take husband with his case. I'm out of it but I guess not so out of it that I wasn't curious to see how much weight I'd lost. 2 days ago I was 186 that was almost a five pound loss in a few days but some has come back now that I've been eating high calorie meals of 2 saltines and 10 calorie chicken broth!!!!! Getting woozy and gotta go. first my back then this. weeee! hubby and i are getting better though, thank you.
  3. Happy Birthday!! Belated but the sentiment remains the same. I know what you mean about losing the enthusiasm. I was late for a Mary Kay party and my friend called and to tempt me said "I've got lots of good food here". I laughed because at one time that would have meant so much to me. When I got to the party I didn't even think to look at the food table. I was on liquids anyway because of my fill on Friday but I wasn't even hungry. This was my first party since my surgery and for the first time in ages I really enjoyed the people instead of being focused on what I was going to get to eat or what I was missing out on.
  4. LOL! Just looked at your profile pic. Great way to remain anonymous! lol Either that or you really were made for scuba diving!

  5. Congrats on your restriction! Yay!

  6. I got a chance to visit with Dr. Miranda after having my fill last Friday. She said something that really hit home for me. 120-300 minutes of exercise per week will prevent a broken hip. I could be a little off on the minutes but it was around those numbers. I'm all about losing weight but I really fear breaking my hip when I'm an old lady. I've already broken both legs and ankles and ruptured at least one disk in my back. I probably have another ruptured now. I also had fractured my arm and didn't find out until after it healed I started complaining about some pain. So, this hip thing really struck a nerve with me. Now, I just need to ignore my back and legs hurting me this week and start some gentle walking. I know it will make me feel better after a bit but it always hurts at first. ok.. done feeling sorry for myself. The point is... exercise.. it's good for us!!
  7. I keep remembering stuff I wanted to say... After leaving my appointment I felt like I got a bargain. For $100 I got a fill under fluroscopy, Dr. So was friendly and unrushed and answered all my questions, I saw Dr. Miranda walking down the hall and started to ask her a question and she pulled me into her office and we talked over things for quite some time. So, a fill under fluoroscopy and a consult with two doctors for $100. I have no complaints.
  8. OMGosh! Congratulations!!! What wonderful news! Make sure to post pics. Including sonogram pics. Aaaaw.. a new little bebe. I just said a prayer for your little family.
  9. Hey ladies and mostly invisible gentlemen. I had my fill on Friday. I got 5ccs. I didn't ask for a big fill. Dr. So just asked me questions and based on my answers gave me 5ccs. So, I can attest that OCC isn't trying to nickel and dime us with little fills. At at $100 a pop I didn't think that anyway. I had called in beforehand because I woke up last Sunday morning and it felt like my great big yawning bottomless pit chasm of a stomach was back. I was HUNGRY!! And let me tell you, it bummed me out big time!!!! Between my back being out and my appetite being back, I was worried I'd pack on a ton of weight but I still managed to lose. Yay band! The process was so easy and painless. I was kind of afraid of how much the fill would hurt since my port area is still a little ouchy. Which reminds me, if you haven't had surgery yet you might want to buy a very snug tank top, like those bulge control ones, to keep your tummy from jiggling and moving that port around. Anyway, I didn't even feel a pinch when the needle went in and even less when he took it out. I let Dr. So know that I was having close to no restriction. It seemed my appetite was back just as bad as before. Maybe a little less but that was a maybe. I was uncomfortable with the amount of hunger I was having and having a difficult time controlling it. I was making some very bad food choices (it seems satan somehow snuck peanut brittle into my home the day after my appetite came back ). Dr. So gave me some CCs and then upped it and upped it again. Everything flowed right through. So now I have 5ccs and i'm feeling full but not as full as I was post surgery. We'll give it some time and see how it goes. Today I'm back on solids and I was craving Cream of Wheat and ate that instead of something more solid. I think I'll make tuna salad for lunch. Nummy! Oh.. I got my fill a week early. That's why I called Dr. So. With Easter coming up and lots of traveling, I didn't want to wait for my fill or be on liquids with guests here and since I wasn't having any problems I was able to get my fill after 5 weeks instead of 6.
  10. Welcome back, KRISTI!! ALOHA!!

    1. Kristi

      Kristi

Haven't heard from you in a while, how are you?

  11. I missed weigh in last friday as I was finally out of bed and went to TJ for my first fill. I'm 191! Slowly but surely it's coming off. Now I have to fix my Ticker. My back is still not doing well but waaaay better than it has been. I'm finally out of bed but a bit of a walking zombie.
  12. Woohoo!! WTG! You are my hero and may I say... YOU... LOOK... FABULOUS!! or should I say, "FABULOSS"?
  13. Good for you and thanks for the reminder! I have a ball I can use when I sit at the computer.
  14. Look at this post by LoriBecky. It gives a guideline on good and bad fills. I think Dolittle's post about increasing you chance of a good fill also says something. NO WHERE do I see that barfing up liquids falls into the good fill category. In fact, barfing up anything, unless over eating, seems like an over fill. http://www.occforum.com/index.php?showtopic=9703
  15. You're welcome. And if it's not on your cable I recommend going to walmart and getting the DVDs. They were $10 each. They are called Leslie Sansone Walk at Home and I bought the 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk which lets you choose if you want to do 1,2,3,4, or 5 miles. I also bought the 5 Day Slim Down which is a 1 mile walk but each day you work on something different like arms, legs, tummy, etc. I just bought these yesterday and haven't tried them yet. I did the TV one yesterday. What I like about these (the TV version at least) is that they have a count down timer along with the mile markers. When I can see how much time I have left to go it encourages me to go further. The mile markers work the same. I see that I've done 1 mile and want to do 2. Right now my back is really bad and walking is the best thing for it. I've been able to walk at a slower pace and not lifting my legs as high. If it wasn't for this I'd just be on my back on ice all day.
  16. Grats on getting into Onederland!!

  17. Count me in. I'm walking for now until I can do more flapping around.
  18. Aye yi yi, Lindsay! You had better put on your flak jacket! lol
  19. Grats on getting below 200!! Welcome to Onederland!

  20. Ooh.. I was going to create a topic but I'll post here instead since yours is so similar to what I was going to say. I copied this from another post in another area. Don't hate me for being unoriginal. The change in weather is tweaking my back and it hurts too much to sit and even to think right now. Anway, this is what I was doing until the weather started coming in yesterday. AngieB. mentioned that On Demand (a thingie with different cable and satellite companies) is having a free thing with the exercise channel. I decided to check it out and found a great workout for those getting started. It's a walking (in your home) program and you can start with 1 mile. I'd recommend that for your first time then you can see if you can do the two mile. It takes about 20 minutes for the warmup w, walk and cool down. 33 minutes for 2 miles. It's very easy but it gets your heart rate up. She even says "we aren't dancing, we're walking". I can never keep up with the aerobics because I'm always facing the wrong way or confused by the steps. Not this. I think it's great and went out and bought the DVDs at WalMart. The instructor's name is Leslie Sansone (I think). The 2 mile walk is what the American Heart Association is recommending for health but start with the 1 mile first so you don't get discouraged. I walk 5-10 miles no problem but at my pace. This two mile walk had me sweating but I've been doing it every day. I've had back and threee leg surgeries and where I can't do aerobics I was easily able to do this. I have Verizon and this is how I found it: On Demand Browse All Free MyLife Exercise TV Walk for Weightloss Start walking 1 mile or 2 mile Any more than that you'll have to ask your cable provider or Verizon. That's all I know about where to find it.
  21. I posted this earlier and don't see it. If I double posted.. sorry. I'm going to create a topic just for this too but I thought I'd address it here as well. 22. 2 fiber gummies Breakfast: Lindora Protein shake Lunch Lindora cream of chicken soup Liquids.. I know. Trying to undo what I did last night.
  23. Aint that the truth?! Last night my husband and I had date night and he ordered a glass of wine. I took a sip then another and he told me to order my own glass (yah, he's like that). When we got dinner I sensibly packed up about 2/3s right off the bat and started eating what was left. I didn't finish and pushed my plate away and I drank less than 1/2 a glass but that was enough to loosen me up as I haven't drank in some time. I then started picking at what was left on my plate. When that was done I opened the box and started picking at the salmon inside. I ended up eating way more than I would have. I've always known how after I drink I stop caring about what I'm eating but last night I was counting on the band to stop me. BIG mistake. It's a tool without a mind. I also didn't like the buzz I got from the wine. Blech. No more. Lesson learned. Plus I have less energy today. So not worth it.
