  1. trust me you will feel hungry soon. I believe that I met you when I had my fill on July 28. Good luck and keep up the good work! I ended up going on solids about day 18 post op and I have still lost weight.
  2. I was just there. I flew down to San Diego on July 27 and had my fill on July 28, got pick up by the OCC van and sailed right through, then came back to San Diego with the OCC van and had no problems. I was banded on May 24 and have lost 32 lbs so far. another 70 to go
  3. I am here in Tijuana right now. Had my surgery May 24 and am now down for my first fill. Have lost over 30 lbs since. Dr. Miranda says that by next June or before I will lose at least another 70 lbs. They say my progress is just great. I will be writing off all the costs of my surgery, travel, meals and fills on my income tax for 2010 before the end of April 2011. I live in BC, so the BC government will not reimburse, but it was still cheaper than going to Vancouver and paying $18,000. I am a professional bookkeeper/tax preparer in Canada so if anyone is not sure how to write this off in Canada, email me and I will help you.
  4. Surgery went fine. Had a small problem with my bowels the day after surgery, but Dr. Martinez fixed me up on that one. Have been home now since May 28 and have one more week on full fluids and then on to solids

  5. So how did your surgery go?

  6. I was banded on May 24 and I live in British Columbia. I went to Walmart Pharmacy in Tijuana and got the Supra Dol 30Mg over the counter. Walmart is the closest to the Marriott if you are staying there, Also if you are staying at the Marriott, ricardo the driver for the Marriott if you tip him can very very accomodating. I would not want to drive down there the drivers down there are "crazy", I wondered each day with the way they drive there were no accidents. Made the mistake of getting what I thought was the same supra dol, at Costco and it was only 10MG. I had very little pain and very little gas. I have one more week of the full liquid diet and then not sure what to eat. I am currently using the Glucerna, soups, water, homemade fruit popsiclces and am not hungry. Started out at 260lbs, and today am down to 239 lbs. for the ride home I just had a little cushion that was about 9 inches square to protect my incisons from the seatbelt on the plane and car. Watch your bowels before surgery and eat lightly, I found that after the surgery I got plugged up and Dr. Marinez had to give me a little help to get unplugged.
  7. I am here is TJ and my surgery is tomorrow May 24. I know that |i can do this but still scared. Also confused about preop diet and post op diet. I have lost 20 lbs since I started on Mar 30, but still weighing in at 243lb. Met With Dr. Ortiz last Thursday and he seems to be awesome. Not sure about the post op diet but will figure it out. will try to log in here each day. Also had dental work done here on Friday and am waiting for my Crowns to be put in on wednesday coming up. Good thing I cant chew many things right now, so the liquid diet is actually working for me right now.
  8. I am in BC and have my surgery date for May 24 with Dr Ortiz, but am concerned about after care. Does anyone know of anyone in BC who does not have hangups about us having our Surgery in Mexico? I just attended a seminiar today with the False Creek Surgical centre out of Vancouver and they want just over $17,000 for the lapband. A little closer to home but much more expensive. They dont seem to want to touch a "Mexican"or work done at another center. they also stated that their Allergan bands "were more üp to date than the ones" being used in the US or Mexico.
