  1. I just spoke with Dr. So today on the phone and he said the highest anyone should really go with the 11 cc band is 8.5 or 9 ccs. He mentioned that most people have the perfect amount of restriction by then. I am at 6 ccs and still have 45 lbs to lose so I'm hoping only having 2 ccs to go will do it for me. I will be getting a fill within the next month or so and I will probably only have 1 cc added.
  2. I was wondering what "restriction" feels like. Everyone talks about it but I honestly don't know if I feel it or not? lol I am losing weight and I don't eat as much, but I really don't know if I feel anything I could call restriction. Can anyone provide a description? Thanks!
  3. Hi everyone. I am back down to 199 so that is good. And I don't seem to have nearly as much discomfort when I eat - and no PBing for about a week.
  4. I love the Jimmy Dean turkey sausages - lots of protein! And they go down well - better than regular sausage.
  5. Thanks for the replies. Yes, it does seem like I have good days and bad days and some days I can eat certain things and other days I can't. I got my last fill on Aug. 5 and I wonder since it was awhile back if going back to liquids for a couple of days would do any good. My main concern is that even when I measure my food (1 cup - sometimes I can finish it, sometimes I cannot) and I stop when I feel satisfied (not full), I am always hungry again within an hour or two. It is so frustrating!
  6. Hi everyone! I was banded on June 17th and was doing quite well. I had my first fill exactly 6 weeks later. I had 3ccs put into my 11cc band - with fluoro and everything looked good. They said it was a little slow but should loosen up after my two days of liquid. It did - and I was feeling like I didn't have much restriction. Although I did feel some discomfort with some of the things I ate after I went back to solids, I attributed that to me being too hasty and not chewing enough or eating slowly enough - my stomach would be growling and I would feel hungry just an hour after eating. So...I spoke to my fill providers here and they said yes, you should probably get another fill - so I did exactly a week after my first fill. Another 3ccs. I didn't use fluoro this time. I am not sure if I made the right decision. It was definitely tight so I waited an extra couple of days before trying any solids whatsoever. I have had several PBing episodes (but haven't had any at all in the last few days) and absolutely cannot eat food or drink cold liquids in the morning. Coffee (mixed with protein powder) goes down perfectly in the morning though. Most meals I have severe discomfort and have to stop eating, however, it's not consistent - I have had quite a few meals that went down easily and with no pain whatsoever. I am so confused because even when I do get the right sized meals down with no complications or pain, I am hungry again an hour or so later. I have never had that 4-hour feeling of satisfaction that is so sought after. I've been told by some not to worry as long as I can get liquids down that I should not worry too much but this is driving me crazy. I also haven't had a bm in almost 5 days - even after taking a mild laxative for two days. I have even gained a pound and a half in the last couple of days. Not sure if that could be due to the heat wave we are having here though - I tend to retain water. Any advice? Has anyone else ever felt like their band was too tight but was still hungry? Should I go back and stay back on liquids for a week or something? Thanks! Misty
  7. Hey I haven't been on, but hope your doing good. We should be going for our fills soon, yey! Anyhope keep in touch. Lucy

  8. Thanks! How did you get extra? Just at the pharmacy?
  9. Me too. Carolyn from OCC recommended it - said it was much better. hmmm....
  10. I started my pre-op diet yesterday - I was 233 lbs, and in just one day I am 231.6 - not bad! Makes the being hungry worth it. Of course, it's only my second day... I have found in just these two days that instead of doing a shake for breakfast and lunch and doing the Lean Cuisine for dinner - I do the Lean Cuisine for lunch. That way I'm not as hungry when dinner comes around because the protein shakes really don't do a darn thing for my hunger. Misty
  11. Hi everyone! My surgery is scheduled for June 17. I am wondering what kind of pain meds they give you when you leave the clinic and how many. I am flying from Washington but my dad will be driving us both back up here after I am discharged - so I am wondering how uncomfortable I will be in a car for long periods for a few days. Also - where does everyone get those ticker things for weight loss tracking? They're really cool! Thanks! Misty
  12. I have diabetes and PCOS and while metformin is used most commonly to treat diabetes, it is also used for PCOS. I've never had a problem with it, but I do know you need to stop taking it 48 hours before surgery. They didn't say anything to me about it yet, but the last surgery I had (in Jan.) they said it was very important.
  13. This is probably a bit late but examples of creamy soups would be tomato, cream of broccoli, etc.
  14. I have scheduled my surgery for June 17! I've made my down payment and bought my plane ticket and I can't wait!!
