  1. I am feeling great. I am down twenty total. I am steaming some veggies to mush, and having no problems digesting soft foods. Biggest challenge is drinking enough protein isolates, couldn't be happier.
  2. I had the sleeve on the 4th of April. Since I was going to be there longer I decided to get my eyelids done. The funny part is my eyes hurt worse. All and all it was a great experience and I am down 17 pounds total. Feel great and k.ow this will save my life and give me my health back . Loved meeting.g our friends from Victoria
  3. I find most of the time the more I can prepare for things the less stress I have about them, or as my husband calls it... OCD. Protein I have been trying the last couple weeks to try every protein/yogurt shake to see what my "normal" stomach and digestive system can tolerate. After studying I found not all proteins absorb the same. You want to look for ingredients that read protein isolate, before the protein concentrate. That is the same as far as soy. The processing to make an isolate is more expensive but it can be used better by the body. I was surprised to find that Muscle Milk is one of those. (Leave it to the body builders to know their proteins.) Clear Broth That one is going to vary with everyone's tastebuds. It actually taste ok to me if I add some jalepeno seasoning. I don't know if that will be allowed later. I know it is healthier to have the broths without MSG. I am having a cup a day just to get used to it. Vitamins I have changed over to liquid vitamins, that I get at Costco, in case I have problems with pills. The pleasant surprise for me is that the Multivitamin doesn't make me nauseated, and all the pill form ones do. I am taking the Reviva high potency multivitamin, and Reviva Calcium and the liquid D3. I have lost 9 pounds in the last two weeks and have 4 more to go before my surgury on the 4th of April. I have talked to Dr. Ortiz a few times and feel confident in my choice to have the stomach plication. Hope this will help someone get ready.
  4. I just noticed we share the same birthday! I am 20 years older! I think just keeps getting better! Great Pictures and congrats on working so hard!
  5. Because I live so far away (Anchorage Alaska) I have decided to stay in San Diego on the beach for 5 days after my surgery, in case I have any complications. But I am not expecting there to be any issues besides nausea and feeling like _______. I may be surprised and not have any issues but I rather be prepared and expect the worse and be surprised if my outcome is better. I appreciate all the people who have posted and let me know that they really felt poorly for a few days. It lets us know not to be worried when that happens.
  6. I have had other surgeries and always have problems with throwing-up after wards. I am trying a few things this time, to see if it might help me. I am trying different protein drinks and soups now, to see which ones my body tolerates when I am not sick to my stomach. I can see where the lactose could make things even worse for people. I can tolerate it, but not as well. Once I am done experimenting with different brands I will let you know what has worked for me. I am also trying different broths, I don't really want to drink those that contain MSG. So I am using the kind that is in the boxes already prepared and adding some seasonings.
  7. I will be there on the 4th as well. I am Deanne from Alaska. I have told all my friends and family because I feel like no one can talk behind my back when I am out in the open with my plans. Plus, I am confident in my decision and know that we are going to a good facility with good physicians. I sometimes think Americans think we have the monopoly on good heathcare, but there are many good doctors outside the U.S. Once, I say that people don't give me the lecture on Mexico...LOL
  8. I am 52. I live in Anchorage Alaska. My starting weight was 243, I am at 235 this morning. 5 pounds more to go before surgery. I am scheduled to have my surgery on Monday the 4th of April. I am reading everything I can at this stage on nutrition and really trying to make sure I do this in the healthiest way I can. I have been reading alot about the importance of isolate protein vs the concentrated protein. Has anyone found a shake that is mainly made up of isolates? Thanks and good luck to everyone!
