  1. Hi guys! In my experience, I had the plication on July 1st 2011 (a year and a few days ago) and I should say, that if I have to do it again, I will do it without even thinking about it. I had my surgery on the Dominican Republic (Hospiten) and I'm thrilled with my results. I went from size 22 to size 7, so far I've lost 65 pounds, I know that it's not too much but I'm very happy with the way I look now. I am healthier. Before the surgery I was having issues with high blood pressure, that's my PAST! If you're considering a plication, you should know, that like in any other surgery there might be some complications, it's a non-natural procedure, you are making some adjustments to your body, stomach, the risks are really really low. Go for it and you won't regret! P.S. My recovery was incredibly fast, no pain.
  2. Good luck Lindymause! I'll be cheering for you! You're almost starting a new life!
  3. Hey there! I don't understand how you feel, because since the surgery, I don't get hungry, never. I even eat sometimes because I have to. Don't you have a nutricionist on your team to help you with the weekly menu? My day is something like this: Breakfast 6onz of protein shake in non-fat milk Snack: 0% fat yoghurt (like 2 onz) Lunch: creamy food, its like the soup but with more consistency, like baby food. With chicken, broccoli, etc. Snack: diet jello Dinner: same as lunch, and after one hour another take of protein. This is my menu for the week. The only thing that makes me feel anxious sometimes, is to chew! So I bough some no sugar added mints to calm myself. Keep up the good spirit! You'll see you'll be losing a lot of weight soon!!
  4. One week since my surgery, and I am THRILLED!!!!! -13 pounds off (67 left to reach the goal) and 4cm in measures! I'm feeling so good. Eating now more creamy food, including yogurts and baby food.
  5. Hello! I had my plication on july 1st too. First day was horrible with all the nauseas and vomiting, I had to stay an extra night at the hospital because I was in risk of dehydration.Today I'm feeling so much better and looking forward to see the results. I hope that I will never regret my choice.
  6. Hey guys! My surgery is on July 1st *2 days away* and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I'm getting my plication from Dr.Dominguez in the caribbean island of Dominican Republic, he was a Dr.Ortiz student, so I'm pretty confident. I have a week on the pre-op diet, I don't know my actual weight, but I know that I've lost some pounds!
  7. thank you for all the words! you make me feel so much better! yesterday i tried an omelet with tuna fish, and it tasted really good. ktb, that protein shake sounds GOOOOD!! what about alcohol? can you have a glass of wine for example on weekends? what of your old habits can you eat? i will try to include veggies on my new eating habits one step at a time.
  8. Wow! It seems really hard :/ I feel anxious and sometimes sad, because days are getting closer and I'm concerned about how I'm going to feel after the surgery! I'm not a veggie fan, and I know for sure that I will need to learn to love them! I stopped drinking sodas, a month ago, and I feel pretty good. I will let you know my diet as soon as I can! Now after the surgery, do you feel hungry sometimes?
  9. Hi guys! My surgery is on july 1st, I'm going to see my doctor on tuesday to start the pre-op diet. I don't know what to expect! Can you tell me about your experiences?
  10. @ktb2904 for that reason I'm starting to stop all kinds of soda, I've heard the same, that after 6-12months you can drink them again, but I will be scared to start that addiction after all the hard work!! Yes, I will write down all the questions, including the one of the birth control pill, though I don't mind stopping it for 1 or 2 months. @ellenmarie, I'm sorry to hear that of your husband! I think that after making this kind of investment we should take care mooooore of our bodies and life style. Is sad to gain weight after all the sacrifices. Either of you after the surgery have eaten something that you used to like? Like pizza, or a piece of cake? Thank you for sharing and all the support!! I really appreciate!
  11. Wow, it seems that you're doing an excellent job! Now I feel even more motivated! For me I think is going to be really hard, I'm not a veggie fan so I will need to learn how to eat them!! Also a coke fan, but this I'm trying to avoid it, and drinking fresh juices! My date is in july 1st, and I'm feeling really nervous, I don't know what to expect after the surgery with the pain and the scars. Are you going to the gym or exercising? Do you know if you have to stop any medications or in my case birth control pills!? I'm so thankful! You've been really helpful!
  12. Thank you for sharing what you know! How much do you weight now?? do you feel tired sometimes or lose your hair?? And how's the diet going so far? Can you eat solids! What kinds? Keep on the good work! And thanks for the sharing :*
  13. Wow! Good for you!! And how is the diet? For example in a day, what is the food you eat? And how many times do you eat? I'm wondering how will be the pain right after the surgery.
  14. Oh hi there!! And how do you feel now? Are you good? I'm having the Plication on July 1st. I don't know what to expect after the surgery. How's the pain? I know I'm going to have a pre-op diet, do you know something about that?
  15. Hi Feather!! Actually I live outside the US, so my surgeon is not Dr.Ortiz. I'm super excited! I can't wait Some of my questions are posted above, what do you have in mind? O.
