  1. Hit a plateau.....I've lost 25lbs since my journey began in June, but waiting for a fill is rough. I have no restriction so all I want to do is eat....YIKES!

  2. Hey Kelly how are you doing? Hope it's going well for you. I had surgery on the 29th of June and doing well. Now that I'm recovered there's no restriction so that's hard, but otherwise happy with everything. Drop me a line sometime.

    Take care

    Stephanie

  3. Hey Kelly, Did you have the plication? I can't remember. Hang in there...your metabolism is still changing, remember you were on liquids for a while now on solids, your body has to adjust. Are you keeping a food journal? I started keeping one with this journey and it has really helped. Somedays I don't think i eat much, but then when I write it all down it's more than I should have had. Are you going to the gym? Change things up. Do different exercises or just walk outside for an hour, go walk at the mall and look at all the clothes you ARE GOING TO FIT INTO! No more fat clothes!!! and make sure you are drinking your water! Stay strong! Steph
  4. Sandi, I have the same problem with the scale. My daughter yells at me for weighing myself everyday, but if I wait a week and haven't lost I get mad, so I've compromised now that I'm not losing everyday and just weighing myself every other or every 3rd day. Then if I gain I know I need to kick it up a notch. I think we all just want it to happen so fast, and actually it is, when you look at the big picture. Great job on your success. My goal is #50 by Oct (by my 42nd bday) I was banded July 29th and was excited when I was on all liquids...lost about a pound a day...yea that's over now...lol. I can see the changes so that helps. Steph
  5. Hi Steph, You can have soups with veggies in it, just cook them till their mush and then chew well. Guacamole is WONDERFUL, I've had some and just licked it off the chip I was so desperate for real food, but only needed a little before the craving went away:) Hummus is good and it's good fat for energy, like the guac. For my smoothies I use Muscle Milk light or Adkins shakes with either fresh berries,1/4 banana, a little peanut butter, or sometimes a Starbucks instant coffee pack (whatever sounds good)put it in my magic bullet with a little ice and wallah....YUMMY. Good Luck:) Steph
  6. Hey Lindsey, Yea, I had wierd muscle pull/burn at the largest incision site. Mine decreased everyday and is now mostly gone at 2 wks. Ibuprofen and gasx helps lots! Hang in there it gets better:)
  7. Great Job Steph, it's it great! It's a whole new journey. Few bumps in the road, but otherwise enjoying the trip. I'm only down 25, but not bad for 5 weeks. Worried the wt loss will stop or go up when we can solids again...YIKES. Work has been easy, no prob and the port isn't bothering me anymore:) Looking forward to more updates steph (the other one:)
  8. Hey Donna, So sorry to hear you didn't get the plication, but glad that the surgeons we're more concerned about your health than the $$. You have been doing this for a long time and you know everything you need to know to keep the weight from coming back. You can soooo do this. Keep us up on how you're doing. I'm doing good with the band. Still having some pain where the port is when I move wrong, but assume that will go away with time. Been losing about a pound a day, but on a liquid diet so duh.... Take care Stephanie
  9. that's wild about our bdays:) Glad you're doing well. I'm improving everyday. I'm down #19 also!!!! Hope you have a happy 4th. I'm staying away from all the parties and bbq's just too hard at this point:( next year I will have more reason to celebrate MY INDEPENDENCE from obesity!!! Take care

  10. Thanks Canuk, I figured it would take a while, guess that will take some getting use to. I knew it would be a problem later when the fat is gone. Have you had to have yours moved?
  11. My discomfort is more on the left side and it does feel big, but it's under tissue so it feels bigger than it is, plus it's still swollen. I walked quite a ways today and that did help. Just slower than we want I'm sure. What day was your surgery? Did we meet? Stephanie
  12. Glad your on the mend. Hope the trip home wasn't too rough. Looking forward to seeing your pics:)
  13. Just wanted to say hi. Hope you are feeling well. I'm still fighting with post-op air and can feel the dang port. Didnt expect that, otherwise doing well. Lost 3 lbs yesterday. Hadn't lost any since surgery, but had a lot of fluid to lose. Hope to talk to you soon.

  14. I had lap-band surgery on the 29th and still have a lot of air, it does take a while to dispell. I can feel mine in my neck and shoulders. Keep moving and taking your gas-x and the papaya chewables help too. Are you having pain by your port? That's what surprising me. If I bend or move a certain way I can feel it moving and it hurts. Not as much as the first two days. Hoping it will go away with time or sit-ups are going to suck more than they already do...lol Good luck steph
  15. Great to meet everyone down at OCC, it was a great experience. Now we can watch each other get skinny. Good luck to all that we left behind. Hope your surgeries went well

    Steph

  16. See you all on the banded side:)

  17. You ready??? I know I am. Have you been able to lose your pre-op wt? I have, but having a hard time not eating lots before I leave since I know I'll be on all liquids for a while...UGH. Hope your doing ok. My cell is 503-936-8189 if you want to text or call me. It's all about the support:)))

    Steph

  18. Just wanted to wish you luck. I leave on Tues. If you want to text me or call my cell is 503-936-8189. It does cost more in Mexico, but I know I'll be using mine a lot:) I think a huge part of this working is support from others.....see you soon

    Steph

  19. Leaving in two days!! So excited!!! Hit my pre-op goal wt few days ago. Only down side is my back is REALLY missing my ibuprofen...UGH. It's going to be a long plane ride:)

  20. Thanks for the input ladies. After reading lots more material I'm very confident in making the "band" decsion. Looking forward to the next step in my life. Thanks to all of you for the support. Steph
  21. Hi, I'll be flying in on the 28th band surgery on the 29th, I'm just doing the basics. I was thinking I don't even think I'll bring makeup...why bother...I'm on vacation (of sorts) and not planning on going out. Nice comfy pants and tops. I have heard somebody said don't bring underwire bras because they might rub near an incision, and books, magazines to kill time while your waiting/recovering and TV is limited. See ya there Stephanie
  22. Hi, I'm flying in on the 28th and surgery the 29th, we'll have to meet up:) I will be traveling alone also. Good for you for making a decision to change your life. Look forward to meeting you Stephanie
  23. Thanks Deb, and can I just say WOW...you look fantastic! Glad it's working for you. steph
  24. Alright bandsters I am planning on being banded in a couple of weeks, but the more I read and research the more I'm wondering if I should just get the plication. Do you all feel that you have been happy with your bands, or wish you had had the plication option?? I have seen some that are going in for revisions from band to plication so now starting to have second thoughts on the best option. Any opinions are apprciated. I am 41 wt 246 and 5'7 tall Thanks Steph
  25. Hi Kelly,

I'm in PDX also. Nice to know there's somebody else here that's been through it. I'm having surgery on 6/29 but havent decided on plication or band...UGH. When did you have yours? Thoughts?

    thanks

    steph
