  1. I had my plication done August 2, 2011. I lost 30 lbs prior to surgery and 35 lbs after surgery. I feel great! No complications, no issues at all. I am working and going to school full time, so I am not getting my exercise in like I should but still losing... slow and steady. I chose the plication over the lapband because I didn't want to worry about fills either. Over all, it's been a great experience. If I had to do it over again, I would change one thing... I would not have traveled back home two days after surgery. I would have stayed in a hotel (in San Diego) and recuped a few more days before trying to fly home. It was not a fun experience. Of course three hours at the border, flight delays and long layovers didn't help :-( Best of luck to you. Starting weight: 244 lbs Pre-surgery weight: 214 lbs Current weight: 179 lbs
  2. I had my plication done Aug 2nd. Today I started soft foods. Aside from the nausea the first couple of days, I've done pretty well. I lost 30 lbs pre-op and 12 lbs post op. I haven't started back on my workouts yet, but will soon. Everyone at OCC was great. I don't remember much the day of the surgery or even the ride to the hotel the next day. My husband said Dr. Ortiz came in my room and talked about duck hunting with him. I'm kind of glad I missed that conversation LOL Here's my recommendation for those traveling to Mexico: Even though they say you can travel two days after surgery, don't do it. Find yourself a little hotel in the San Diego area and take a couple more days to rest up. We spent three hours at the U.S. Border and another four hours layover in Phoenix airport. I was miserable. Of course, I must have thought I was 20 instead of 55 because my recovery took a lot longer than I had anticipated. Overall, it was a good experience and, so far, I don't regret my decision to have the procedure. Starting weight: 244 lb. Surgery weight: 214 lb. Current weight (3 weeks post op): 202 lb.
  3. I'll be coming in from Arkansas for August 2nd surgery. I've been waiting a long time for this. I had originally scheduled it for May 10th, but had to postpone due to some health issues. Now it's finally time. Getting very excited. Started my pre-op diet today. I think it's going to be a struggle but since I've already lost 7% of my weight, I'm not going to stress over it too much.
