Hi Suzg, Doing GREAT! Surgery went really well and everyone was wonderful at the OCC! On liquid diet now will be on it for the next week and a half. But 8 days out from surgery and ive lost 10lbs already. YEAH!

      So excited!

  8. Hey guys, has anyone found any chewable Iron pills that dont taste NASTY!!! ive been grinding mine up in my shakes but WOW nothing is taking that flavor away. Any Suggestions would be great! Thank you!
  9. Lisa, I looked up the ONVO wishing that they had something closer to me Im in Skagit Valley. It sounds incredibly beneficial. Will keep looking.
  10. Hello all! Here I go with the questions again... As im reading more and more in different places im seeing that you should not be drinking caffeine in the first few weeks and NO carbonated drinks.... this... are two things... im addicted too! I know that when I dont have caffeine I get nasty headaches and well lets face it... I can get down right crabby! Can you tell me how you got through this phase? My mind is set to stick to the plan to the letter. (because lets face it.. we all can find any excuse to push the limits of our diets) thats how we got to this place. Thank you!
  11. Thank you for the info Caligirl and MJ I have requested the Lucerna... hoping there isnt an additional charge for it.
  12. CaliGirl, Thank you for the information. Greatly appreciated! I sent an email to Carolyn asking if im able to book at the Lucerna instead of the Marriott. If its closer to the OCC and amenities that will be much easier for us.
  13. Soo Ive been reading both of these books. I love them! Very helpful. I also booked my surgery!! Im very excited... worried.. everything that im sure everyone else has gone through too. Heading down in March (yes im a bit ADD when it comes to planning) lol My best friend is going with me so it will be good. She is wanting to do shopping while we are there. Can anyone tell me did you exchange your US dollars for Pesos while there or at the San Diego Airport? Also, I understand there is a mall close to the Marriott. Has anyone been? Is it Fairly safe? Any suggestions on where to go? Thank you !
  14. Here is another one while I was looking on Amazon that I thought looked really helpful! The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Well After Weight LossSurgery - MS, RD, LDN, RYT, Margaret Furtado; Paperback I ordered this one along with the Eating in the Moment one that you recommended Michele.
  15. YEAH! thanks! I thought it was you Michele but I couldnt find the post again. I swear I wasnt trying to stalk you LOL. Going to order mine today. Have a great day everyone!! Looks like fall has definately arrived here in the great Northwest!!
  16. Hi All, Somewhere on here I saw that someone was reading a book called (i think) the Art of mindful eating. They stated that it was very helpful regarding the mind game that we play with ourselves and our eating habits. I have looked on amazon.com and am only able to find something similar in a CD form. Can anyone tell me if they have this book? If so can you please let me know the author? The person who posted about this said that it was an amazing book and it had a lot of answers for them regarding this issue. Who knows every little bit helps right? Thanks so much!
  17. tx40 So happy for you that everything went smoothly and your doing well. Where did you stay while you were there? I was thinking it would be alot to fly in and do pre-op and the surgery in one day as well. Think I will go the day before so I can get settled in. Excited to see your progress! Congrats on your journey to your new life!
  18. Soo Excited for you! Good Luck and please keep us posted!
  19. That is so WONDERFUL!!! gosh I havent seen size 18 since I was in Highschool!!! Are you working out at all?
  20. Thank you Laurie! I read your blog... I think you maybe right. i might have to try writing it all out as well. I have to say you look beautiful!! keep on doing what your doing!! its really awesome to see the changes in everyone! Cant wait to be able to see the same changes in myself.
  21. Christi, Michelle and Laurie, Thank you so much for all your input! Im very excited about my surgery and learning more as I read all of your posts that indeed this is a tool not a magic bullet to shed the pounds. Funny thing is the more that I think about the surgery and things that I will have to change, new habits I will have to form the more I think about what I am putting in my mouth.. I found myself last night getting irritaited with my husband for eating the rest of the snack mix ( you know the kind with nuts and raisens and M&M's) fortunately my husband is built very well so he does not have to worry about weight or what he eats (bugger!!!!!!) afterwards I thought... well lets think about this for a minute... he just did me a favor! Now... I cant eat it... and I dont have to worry about it calling me from the cupboard! YEAH!!! With some of this new thought process I have lost 4 lbs... YEAH! Thank you again for all of you being so forthcoming with your thoughts, advise and very personal struggle with your weight. I am fearful of facing the things that I have "stuffed" wih food. But am grateful to know that I have a place to type my thoughts and never ending questions and there are people who have faced the same things on the other end willing to share their accomplishments with me and how they reached them. Shelley
  22. Scoleski, Thank you for your posts. Boy have you hit the nail on the head with alot of what you are saying. My surgery is not for about 5 months but feverishly researching everything I can get my hands on about the Gastric Sleeve surgery. So thank you for documenting your experience and your very personal fight with the food monger deamons that like to try and pretend your friend. I to am a "closet eater" My best friend of over 20 years says to me but I never see you eat much! I eat more than you do! (she's a size 8!) I finally fessed up to her and said yes you never see me eat much.. no one does... I eat when no ones looking, hide what I dont want my son or husband to eat so I can have it later. She was shocked and saddened.... BUT! with a new year comes a NEW LIFE!! and with the help of OCC im hoping I get a second chance at a healthy life.!
  23. This is so great to be able to read all of your experiences and get a little more familiar with what I will have to watch out for and look forward to. I am 5 months away from my surgery date but trying to get as much information as I possibly can before I go.. who knows that may be a bad thing I might freak myself out more than I need to LOL. Its helpful to read though what all of you are having issues with eating and what is working better for you. Thank you so much for posting that information will give me some tools prior to going into it.
  24. I guess my biggest fear is having the surgery and still failing at loosing the weight. Those of you that have had the sleeve what do you find that you can and cant eat? I hear that alot of people with the lapband there are many things they cant eat.
