  1. Thank you sparkleprincess. How long have you been post op?
  2. Question: Coming to the end of the 2nd week post op and I know it says nothing with chunks in the creamy soups. I had creamy potato soup but the tiny potato chunks I mashed up and could swallow. Did I mess up? Any ideas? I didn't get sick.
  3. OK, I need people who have had the sleeve done to answer a question. I will be two weeks post surgery on Monday. I'm not starving like I was but it seems like I get nervous around meal time. I'm not necessarily hungry but at meal time I feel nervous like I should or need to eat. Has anyone else had this issue?
  4. You can buy bariatric vitamins locally. I just bought them from OCC because I didn't want to deal with or have time to deal with trying to find them. Good luck. I had my sleeve on Jan. 14 and it was easy breezy. Hope your surgery goes as well.

    tummy before 002

I pray to look like that. How long did it take you to look like that?
  6. So proud for you. You look FANTASTIC! Keep up the good work.
  7. Surgery was easy breezy! I never had a surgery that went so well. I had one pain pill only because my Mom wanted to go walking and I was feeling a little uncomfortable so I took a pill to get me through the walk. I LOVE my nurse Patti; she is such a jewel. I wished I could have brought her home with me. Ok, here is the problem; Mom and I both caught a cold on the plane coming home on Thursday night which has not been fun. I had 3 terrible days of carbonated drink withdrawal (terrible headaches) and I think my mind is still craving it. On Friday and Saturday I was STARVING! I thought I wasn't supposed to be hungry for at least the first week. Now my stomach was growling so I know I was hungry. I'm having such a hard time determining whether I'm really hungry or it's in my mind. Does anyone have any suggestions? I SO don't want to mess this up. This surgery was such a precious gift from my Mom and such a blessing in my life. Any support I appreciate it. Start weight: 262 Pre-surgery weight: 241 Weight today: 237

    Fat Burner Tablets

Thanks Lori, but it just threw me off. I'm not going to bother her with it, but thanks anyway.

Thanks Dolittle; I don't want to be a complainer but it "threw off my plan". LOL

    Plication

That is fantastic! So glad you had a great experience. I have my sleeve done on Jan. 14 and I wished I could leave tomorrow. Very excited. Keep us posted on your progress.
  11. I'm getting so excited about my sleeve procedure which is scheduled on Jan. 14. I've been taking the Espira vitamins and fat burner from the OCC starting on Dec. 14, one month prior to surgery as instructed. It states to take the fat burner 3 a day, which I have been doing, but noticed today that I didn't get 30 in my bottle. I'm 6 tablets short. Has anyone else experienced this same situation? Just wondered. Have a great and safe weekend.
  12. Went to the doctor for my well woman exam yesterday and now I'm one pound to where they want me to be and I have another 10 days to go. I just keep saying, "I can do this. I can do this. I can do this..."
  13. Going on the 14th for surgery; 2 more pounds to be where they want me to be for surgery. I hope to lose more than the 13 required pounds to have a "cushion" so to speak. No pun intended. LOL
  14. Congratulations! You look great. Thanks for sharing. I hope I'm that successful. I go on the 14th.
  15. I am new to OCC but I was wondering how your surgery went; how much you have lost and how your personality has changed since surgery. Keep us informed.
  16. I'm just getting on this blog and wondered how you did on your pre-op diet? How has life been after your plication?
  17. Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Keep up the good work. I hope to do as well as you have. Also, you said you had plication; had you had the lap band or something similar previous to plication?
  18. Thanks Ana and Dolittle you have made me feel a bit better. I started my pre-op diet today. I have some questions but I guess the OCC is closed for the holidays. Perhaps Dr. Miranda will get back with me on Wednesday. Try and see me Dolittle when you are there. I'll try and post a picture between now and then. Would love to meet you.
  19. Another encouraging story. Thanks for sharing.
  20. You guys are encouraging me. I go on the 14th for sleeve surgery and I can't imagine being below 200 lbs. much less getting in a size 10 pant. Woohoo! Keep up the good work ladies.
  21. My Christmas present this year from my Mom will be received January 14, 2013, sleeve surgery. As soon as she said she wanted to do this for me I was so excited. I know someone who had her lap band surgery with Dr. Ortiz, then her Mom, her Dad, her sister and then an in-law all went at seperate times to the OCC for either the lap band or sleeve surgery and all were very pleased with the facilities, doctors and their surgery. I have had no apprehension at all about the surgery. I even watch a live surgery being done and was completely amazed at how it is done. I've not been scared about going to Mexico to have this done. However, the closer it gets and the more people express their concern about all of this, the more nervous I get. I haven't started my pre-op, 2-week prior diet but have already lost 8 pounds; which I'm very excited about, but also nervous that I won't lose the necessary weight they require prior to surgery. I'm sure I'm just worrying about what to worry about but if anyone has any support they would like to give I'd be thankful to hear it.
