  1. Hi Debrah. A couple of other things to think about. First, it might depend on the time of the month. Second, some meds make it impossible to lose weight. My doctor put me on a very mild dose of Lexapro and swore it wouldn't affect my weight. I just couldn't lose anything no matter how I ate or exercised (hence my decision to have the plication). When I went to the OCC, I forgot the medication so I was effectively off of it for 7 days. The weight flew off. Then, my doctor didn't want me to stop cold turkey, so he had me take 1/2 the dose. Guess what, the weight loss totally stalled notwithstanding having had the plication. Now I'm weaning off completely and the weight loss is starting back up.
  2. Thanks for the response. It's nice to have others who have had the same thoughts offer support. When I posted my question, I hadn't had the surgery yet. Now that I'm two weeks out, you are right, I am feeling a lot more confident about moving around and actually got on the stationary bike for a bit. Good luck on your journey!
  3. Hi. I had my surgery on February 13. Yes, I am definately hungry. In fact, a few times I thought somehow my stomach had gone back to it's regular size. But then when I eat one bit too many, it's obvious that there's plenty of restriction. I am actually onto solid foods (I didn't let anyone know I did the surgery, so I've been placed in social situations where just having liquid wasn't possible.) I'm went down 13 pounds in one week but then stalled. I'm on day 5 of being the same weight. I've been told this happens sometimes and that at some point the weight will start falling off again. Here's hoping. How are you doing? Hungry yet?
  4. Hello. I am new to this forum. I am scheduled to have gastric plication on Feb. 13 and my paranoia is setting in. Am I going to spend the rest of my life worried that if I make a wrong move, my stitches will bust open? I love doing pilates (which of course, focuses on strengthening the core--lots of leg lifts and ab work), riding my horse (always potential for falling off) and other activities. Is anyone out there who has had the surgery finding that you are worried about activities because you're afraid of opening up the stitches? Thanks.
