Hi! I'm getting banded in Mexico on February 6. I bought the book "Lap-Band for Life" on Amazon and that helped explain a lot of things. I don't have to start the pre-op liquid diet until 10 days before surgery, which is 2 days from now. I am really nervous about it too! Considering I have never been a successful dieter it will be a challenge for sure. It will be so worth it in the end! I just know you will have a good experience! Eva

Hi! I'm going to be banded on Feb 7 by Dr. Huacuz. I know exactly what you mean about "giving up your old appetite" and food being your "worst/best friend". I feel strangely anxious about losing my long-time crutch too! I got away with the binge eating for many years by working out excessively and periodically fasting. However, age and life got in the way and before I knew it I had gained 100 pounds. Your quality of life suffers so much when you get this heavy! So...I know this is a step in the right direction.
