Best of Luck Jazzy, Dr O and the OCC are top notch. You'll do great. There are a few of us from the Westside of the PHX Metro Area, so maybe we could get together for lunch, coffee, etc. I am in the Litchfield Park area and I was banded on 3/9/07 and am scheduled for my 1st fill on 5/3/07. I am in for a AZ Bandster gathering. Just let me know well in advance, my life is very scheduled. With four kids, a business and a husband that travels, if it's not penciled in a couple weeks in advance it's not going to happen. Bubbles

Beata, I am flying, just thought we could carpool from the west valley to airport and try to match up our flights. I would like to spend some time in TJ. Beata, I am schedule for my first fill on the 24th. I live in Litchfield Park, so we could maybe carpool all the way to and from TJ.

Book Craver, I can re-arrange my schedule to go on the 21st. It will be my first fill. I am in Arizona. I am very interested in trying the trolly, but I also would like to schedule a facial in TJ at Cosmed if we have time. You can PM me and we can hammer out the details. Thanks, Barbara

I just returned from being banded by Dr. O on the 9th. I took $200, and had plenty left over. I did the Filet Mignon for dinner with the works, including dessert, in the hotel resturant, cost approx $23. I had a facial at Cosmed, for $50. Made a trip to Calmex for some C-light, boullion, more water for $8. Plus another $40 in tips. If you tip housekeeping, they will bring you more water. Don't forget to pack some Gas-X. Hi Beata, we are practically neighbors. Welcome. I leave on Thurs. Hopefully I'll get to meet all the March 8 patients, because it looks like I am the only one going in on the 9th. I am traveling solo and have scheduled a facial at Cosmed after my pre-op testing. Goodluck to Kristi, Valerie, Hopeful and Cindy (I think) maybe we'll see each other at the OCC or the Hotel. I am getting very excited. Teri, thank you for the infomation, I will travel for the first fill at the OCC and maybe have Wendy do the second and sequncial ones if needed. Valerie, I don't think they would cancel your surgery for not loosing all your weight. Just do your best and I'm sure that will be fine. I have been having a devil of a time, with my pre-op diet. Hopefully they will weigh me n the morning, so the extra 5 lbs I gain during the day won't count. Beata, stay in touch, maybe we can get together for support. Kristy, I look forward to meeting all the March 8th folks, I am not so sure we'll be crossing paths though. I arrive on the 8th and leave on the 11th, soooo maybe? Now are the any others scheduled for the 9th? I just found out that I have family arriving from otta state the day I arrive home? Any ideas on how to explain my eating habits and possible pain? Hi AZ Folks, I am new to these boards and I am scheduled for banding in TJ by Dr. Ortiz on 3/9. I will be traveling alone and I am terrified. I have never even been to MX before. My insurance does not cover this proceedure, so I had to seach out a more affordable means. My last go at loosing weight was a protien spearing modified fast, I lost 50 lbs, but since ending it in July 06, have gained it all back. I am hoping that I will loose it and keep it off for the very last time. I started my pre-op diet on Thursday, and it's going terriffic. Now I just to wrap my head around traveling to TJ, and having my first ever operation without my DH by my side. BTW I have not told anyone, but my husband. I have four children all girls, all under the age of tweleve. I had them all naturally, so I have never been operated on before. Yikes. I would love to get to know all of you Arizonan's and others traveling this same path. So if anyone could provide a level of comfort to me at this point it would be much appreciated. Is it safe to wlk around TJ? I have heard that COSTCO, Walmart and a mall are all close to the hotel and I love to walk and shop. Thanks so much, Bubs

Hi Everyone, I started my pre-op diet yestertday. I am doing the 12 days of Shake for Breakfast & Lunch and a Lean Cusine for dinner. I have been drinking the Atkins Advantage Vanilla (quite good, a little too sweet). I have had trouble deciding which Lean Cusine to choose. There are Cafe Style, Home Style, Comfort Food, and SPa Style all at my local Wally World. I stuck with the SPa Style, since it seems like the type of "healthy food" I should be practicing with. I have also be practicing eat s l o w e r, and not drinking with my meal. That's going to be a hard one. Two week until D-day now, March 9th. Bubbles

I am planning to head back to TJ for my first fill in April, but wanted to get a backup plan together in case life takes over and I need a quick fill or unfill.
