  1. Judy, you need to contact Rene and he'll schedule you and tell you about the shuttle, etc. rene@obesitycontrolcenter.com
  2. Smiam, I assume you're going to do the 2-week diet of 2 shakes and 1 Lean Cuisine. That's the one I did. It wasn't too bad. You get a lot of head hunger, and plan on some tummy growls too. You can eat up to FOUR pounds of salad according to Dr. Miranda. Use the salad spritzers or plain vinegar. You can do it. You have to want the surgery bad enough. It also gets you on the road to healthier eating, and you get a mind set. When you get cravings, drink something warm. Have broth, tea, sugar free cocoa. It's stage one. Then you'll be on liquids, then solids, then 3 meals with your fill. Lots of little steps to get you where you want to go. On the two week diet, plan to lose about 1 pound a day...it's really exciting!! Good luck! Peace,
  3. What is the name of the Mexican restaurant at the hotel? That's the one my husband and I ate in. I highly recommend the sopes and the spinach empanadas. They are both on the appetizer menu, but they are so generous we didn't need dinner. Peace,
  4. I went down on 6/18. I had no problems at all. I used the water bottles provided in the room at the Lucerna for drinking, and purchased juice boxes in town. I still used the tap water for brushing my teeth. I don't think there's a problem with TJ water like further south in Mexico, but since the bottled water was there, I drank it. I had a fruit drink in town at The Medicine Company. It's on Revolucion. It was fantastic! I ate the tortilla soup at the restaurant at The Lucerna after surgery, they blend it for "Ortiz patients" but you can also order clear chicken broth. I even ordered some of that tortilla soup to take to the airport. If you ask for water at the restaurant, they give you a water bottle and charge you $2.40. The Orangina is the same price and 100% better! After surgery, go shopping! I went to the TJ Costco, and spent the rest of the day on Revolucion. That night, we walked to the Mall. It helps with the surgical pain and the gas. The bellhops will leap at you to carry your bags. I recommend a light rolling carry-on bag. I had a flight back to Seattle, had no problems at all. They will give you some pain med at the clinic. I took one for my flight. I got a pillow on the plane but didn't really need it. I was worried too, but I had no problems. The only thing I wish I did different was travel lighter. The only things I really needed were my regular meds, toothbrush, hairbrush, nightgown for the hotel, and a couple changes of underwear. I am serious!! Feel free to email me as much as you like: notime2qlt@aol.com
  5. Dang Lori, I'll be leaving on Wednesday. Of course you knew that! LOL Congrats! What's your total weight loss?
  6. Michelle, I got very weak on the 700 calories a day diet also. By the 5th day, I was in bed during the day, and I got scared. I decided to have a meal for lunch at that point.
  7. Okay Lori, you got me. I am a very *literal person. When I'm told FOUR pounds, I'm going to make myself a FOUR pound Tupperware bowl of salad and work on it. I told dh I'm going to bring Dr. Miranda FOUR pounds of salad in a trough! I hope she has a sense of humor! LOL I have since learned however that cucumbers and tomatoes weigh considerably more than butter lettuce!! =D>
  8. Dr. Miranda instructs four pounds of salad! Is anyone eating four pounds of salad? I asked her if she meant 4 CUPS. She said no, 4 POUNDS! I buy spring greens at Costco in the one pound box and it's HUGE.
  9. Hi Michelle. I am being really good on my diet too. Congrats on the 13 pound loss. Wow! How long have you been on your diet? I am only on day #3. Do you know what's up with the FOUR pounds of salad per day that you're allowed? I buy the spring greens in a box from Costco and it takes our family a week to go through it, and it only weighs ONE pound. Maybe Dr. M means 1/4 pound??? Maybe I will get a chance to meet you on the 20th before I check out.
  10. Dr. Miranda called and told me I can have salads with Wishbone Spritzer! whooohooo
  11. Hey Richelle! Will I know you by your bells? What day are you going down? We have an extra day at the hotel for Saturday because flights on Sunday were completely booked. I'm on day 3 of the diet. I'm doing the option with the 2 shakes/Lean Cuisine for 15 days. I think 700 calories or less a day is EXTREMELY brutal!! What diet are you doing??? As far as prep, I have my tylenol, gas-x, tucks and a sippy cup. LOL Do you have a list of what is recommended? Feel free to email me @ notime2qlt@aol.com
  12. Anyone else going to be at OCC in 2 weeks?
  13. Let's see. I have told 2 people, my hubby who is accompanying me and an older friend (who was to accompany me if dh couldn't). That's all I am planning on. It will be difficult not to tell my kids. I may not be able to get around that.
  14. Hi Kelly. I'm sorry you'll be going solo. My husband will be my support person for the surgery.....I'll be going solo the first part of June for my fill. Which pre-surg diet did you choose?
  15. Lisa, I'm flexible too. I read 6-8 weeks after surgery for the fill, so that's after 5/30 for me.
  16. Good luck to you too! When will you be going for your fill? I'm thinking June 4th. Let's keep in touch anyway---please email.
  17. Are there any April surgery dates out there?
  18. Is a passport required for travel in Mexico? I was told it was not for land travel. Thanks!
