  1. Hey Auggie, I've done it, I'm not saying I won't do it again. I think most of us have done it at one time or another. Just let it go get back to eating what you should. The next time you want to eat like that again go for a walk. Kelly C.
  2. Lindsay, FYI-I'm at my goal weight 133 lbs.(from 261 lbs) as of today. I was really wanting to hear from the ones on here that have reflux problems if they have had any respirtory problems too! I do go to Dr.s, not looking for medical advise online. Dolittle, I'm afraid you might be right my band could be tight. I did go to the Dr. today (not my GP),I went back to the walk in clinic, where I like the Dr. very much. he seems to think that I need to go back to the Fill Center. Kelly C. Banded April 26th. 2007 Weight at 241 lbs.at surgery time July 27,2010 Weight 133 lbs.as of today!!!!
  3. I knew I needed a fill when I noticed that I was able to eat more then I should. I would stop losing weight also. I finely hit my goal weight of 133 lbs. from 261 lbs. I'm very happy with what I have done for myself with help from my band. Kelly C.
  4. They have a great staff. Best of luck to you. Have fun, after your surgey walk, walk, and walk. You'll do just fine. Do as they tell you to do. Kelly C.
  5. Have you had any problems with this? I had my last fill at the end of March. I've had 2 upper respiratory infections since. I sleep seating up at night but, still have problems with alot of mucus (mostly clear) and slim! I told my Dr. it could be from my reflux with bile going into my lungs at night. Because when I'm asleep and it happens you can hear it in my chest until I cough it up. I'm at the end of my rope with my Dr.(she's a GP and I think I'm her only band pt.) I called the Fill Center and have not heard from them yet. I don't know what to do. I just want a full night of sleep. Kelly C.

When I'm stressed I can't eat and have a hard time keeping it down. I hope all is well with your band. Please keep us posted on your out come. Kelly C. Highest weight: 260 lbs. Banded April 26th. 2007 Surgery weight: 240 lbs. Now Goal weight: 137 lbs.
  9. My family was mixed on what I was going to do. My Mom was for it, my Dad was not for it. He didn't understand how bad I wanted it. He knew I was going by myself. He was upset about my traveling to Mexico alone, having surgery with know one to take care of Me afterwards. My friends told me to go for it. My husband was all for it anything to make me feel better and happy with myself. I went and seen my parents about 4 months after my banding and I had lost about 25 lbs. by then. After seeing me He was better with it. I just wish he lived long enough to see Me now that I hit my goal weight. He passed away Aug.30th.,08. My Mom and my Husband are so proud of me. They both brag about me all the time. You have to do what is right for you. Just help them understand what you have been going through with your weight gain and health issues if you have any. Good luck to everyone of you. Kelly C. Highest weight: 260 lbs. Banded April 26th. 2007 Surgery weight: 240 lbs. Now Goal weight: 137 lbs.
  10. Thank you for your time and in put. I've been at the same wieght since Dec. I'm not putting on weight. That is a good thing. I'll just leave well enough alone for now. For all of you that is new to your lapband, it will take time to lose the weight. I didn't get many fills I done this very slowly. I've read were some have lost weight fast and had problems with food issues and bad fills. Take your time let your body get use to the weight lost, you didn't gain it over night. It has taken me 3 yrs. to get were I'm at but, that was my choice not a bad lapband!! I love my lapband it saved my life. I wasn't in great health, and looking at a short life span. I'm so much better now. So don't give up. Hang in there! Kelly C.
  11. I haven't been here in a long time. I was banded April 26th.2007 at 240 lbs. (I'm 5'2",lost 20 lbs.before surgery!). I'm happy to say that I'm at my goal weight of 138 lbs. I'm haven't had a fill since Oct. So I was thinking that with summer coming on maybe I should get my band tweaked. You know have it checked. My husband said to leave well enough alone! My qestion I quess is what is the longest you have gone before you seen your Dr. again? The last fill was at the Fill Center in St. Petersburg, Fl. Kelly C.
  12. Sara, They are right you have to get your water in. I know my face will break out if I don't get enough water! Break outs at the age of 48!!! LOL! Try it see if it helps. Kelly C St. Pete. Fl.
  13. Thanks Trav, I never even thought about being anemic! I have a Dr. appt. next month for a yearly check up. I'll say something to my Dr. About having some blood work. thanks everyone for your in put. Kelly C. St. Pete. Fl. Banded 4/26/07 Weight 241 As of today 2/19/09 Weight 157 Goal Weight-130!!!
  14. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz, April 26th. 2007! Since I've had my band I get cold easily. If I go out to eat I have to take a sweater along to keep from being to cold. If I get cold My band gets tight and I can't eat. Most of the time I have to order a cup of hot tea. If I don't I won't be able to get anything down. My husband said it was because I've lost 84 lbs. I lost 30 lbs. with my last fill Feb. 08! I go for my 3rd. fill on March 2nd. Has anyone else had this problem? Kelly C St. Pete. Fl. Banded 4/26/08 Weight-241 As of today 2/18/09 Weight-157 Goal Weight- 130!!!!
  15. Amber, After my last fill I was told that you will being to really fill the restriction about a week to 2 weeks later. And I did. You have to give it time for your tummy to adjust to the new fill! Please give it time. Kelly C I just hit my 80 lbs. lost last Monday! 7/28
  16. Pack light if you can pack all that you need in a carry on I would. I packed to much as I always do. It was hard to pick up my luggage. Because I was so soar. Slip on shoes is a great tip. Kelly C.
  17. Hey Mona, Please call Dr. Ortiz before you go for your fill. When I talked with Dr. Ortiz the day I was banded(April, 07), I asked him how many fills will I need and how often. he said about 6-8 wks after I was banded. I got my 1st. fill. I couldn't get there until the end of June, 07. I got my 2nd. fill this past Feb. He said after the 1st. fill you shouldn't have to get a fill but maybe every 6 months during the first 2 yrs. then once a yr. after that. This is just how I feel about fills are that as long as you are still losing weight at a steady pace then put off a fill. But, If you haven't lost any weight in about a month (because we all lose weight and then plato then start to lose again. It takes time.) then it might be time for a fill. I'm just a little learing of someone that want you to come for a fill every month when you might not need it. I have read on here about people who get fillef then it's too much have to go back to get unfilled then back in 2 weeks to be refilled again. That can't be very good for your stomach or your band. Please call Dr. Ortiz office 1st. This is how I feel about fills. Please don't think i'm talking you out of anything I'm not I just want you to please call the Dr. 1st. You have a different band then I have. Kelly C
  18. No as long as you don't let limit you! Even with 25 lbs. off you should be able to walk more then you did! Don't forget to take your vitamins and drink your water. Eat as much protin as you can get. Remember to take nuts with you. So go for it!! Let us know how it was! Kelly C
  19. My 1st. solids was meatloaf and a few bites of a baked potatoe! I can't eat any type of bread or pastries. I use to love any kind of bread. But, because of bread was one of the reasons I was over weight to begin with! French fries, cornbread or hush puppies don't go down well and most of the time comes back up! So I don't eat them any more. Kelly C
  20. Way to Go, Lynn!!!! Your doing great! Don't let it get you down if the weight don't come off as fast as you think it should. everyone will lose at a different rate. Keep up the good work! Kelly C
  21. It's normal!!!! After the swelling goes down so will the size of the lump. I too can feel mine more so since losing almost 80 lbs. Don't worry that is just your port! I would worry if I couldn't feel it! LOL! Your doing just fine. Kelly C Banded April 07
  22. Lynn, you can still enjoy yourself. You have learned to make better choices for yourself. If you remember it was some of those big get togethers that help get you to that place were you needed your lap-band! Go out and make the best of it. Kelly C
  23. Hey Hon, don't get upset. You are where you should be. Please remember your body is still in a little shock. You've had major surgery. Your healing inside. Your food and calorie in take has been cut more then in half. So your body is going to hold on to as much as it can. We all have to eat to lose!! I know it sounds dumb but, it's true. Give it time. We all have been there. Your doing super! Kelly C
  24. Your doing so great!!!! Don't give up! I love the dresses!!!! Black and white are my favorite!!!!! Kelly C
